Ive come to respect a bunch of you guys on this site. So I would like to see who y'all think will be the next coach at UT.

Listening to Ivan Maisel, was glad to here him say the the UcheaT job was NOT a coveted position...unlike Bama, which is a big concern among UcheaTers. They are very concerned they will go through the Dubose/Fraud/Price/Shula nightmares. And if you think we went through it after the last three processes, wait to see what they go through in Kville. We went through our problems, now lets let the others feel what it is like.

I honestly don't know, but I do know it is a bad year to go coach shopping. Clemson will probably get pick of the litter this year. I've heard it called SEC Lite.

You've got SEC like pay, SEC like facilities, SEC like fans, and SEC like recruits. All of that without SEC competition.

I think Butch Davis or Cutcliffe is your front runner.

Gruden - won't happen; loving life at Tampa
Leach - won't happen; loving life at texas tech and in the Big XII

You and Ivan Maisel are kidding yourselves if you think the UT job is not a top notch gig. Dont let your hate for UT make you look silly.

I figure we lose steele this year anyway but I would hate to see him at a close rival because he's a great recruiter. BUT, I also think he would like to put some distance between himself and Saban knowing that few are as good as Saban himself. But they could make a worse choice for sure.

I do not think it will be John Gruden, Butch Davis or Will Muschamp. I have heard that Dennis Franchione (pronounced fRan-CHO-nee) is looking to get back into coaching. I also hear that his wife Kim says that Dollywood is her favorite theme park in the country and see has always loved Knoxville. ;)

For our sake I hope it is Cutcliffe, but Hamilton probably has more sense than to do that. There does not appear to be a long list of college HCs waiting to move this year but a few do come to mind that would do a good job. My first contacts would be with Gary Patterson at TCU and Brian Kelly, Cincinnati. Other possibilities are Todd Graham at Tulsa or Gary Pinkel at Missouri. Past those guys you may have to either look to the NFL or some high profile assistant at a major program.
