After worst postseason loss in Alabama history, the Tide are on the wrong side of a 'fine line' under Kalen DeBoer

To toot my horn after the South Carolina game last year which we won, but were whipped physically, and I said that was our problem. People were slow to pick up on that, but now everybody is aware. Hope DeBoer gets it. Alabama could not match up physically with Georgia or Indiana. Neither...

After worst postseason loss in Alabama history, the Tide are on the wrong side of a 'fine line' under Kalen DeBoer

Somebody mentioned Shula. My son-in-law is the track and field coach at Tulsa University and he sent me a Dave Radar, Shula's offensive coordinator and from Tulsa, quote. "Indiana just beat Alabama by 35 points, I plan to stay up all night because the rapture will soon follow." Mal Moore who...

JessN: Indiana Wrap-up: The Defeat Was in the Details

Alabama beat the SEC teams because they are not that good. DeBoer would be smart to hire Pruitt. He was D C on Saban's best defenses. Put him in charge. If the defense did not improve then look pass coaching. I have no clue on offense. He is supposed to be a top offensive coach.

Was the season a success anyway?

Alabama's success was because the SEC is overrated right now. Our dismal effort against two good teams at the end of the year shows this. People need a reality check on the state of the SEC. It is not the dominate conference it was for years. It is similar to the BIG now without two dominate...

After worst postseason loss in Alabama history, the Tide are on the wrong side of a 'fine line' under Kalen DeBoer

The lack of the physical part of the game is right on and not having a team mentality is the other. Indiana and Miami both showed big signs of a team mentality. Miami's last drive to beat Ohio State showed the team mentality (a solid team effort to put them away like Alabama used to do in...

Was the season a success anyway?

The state of the SEC and college football in general is the more important question. Notre Dame and the BIG fans are having a field day after this beat down and and it makes sense they would. I agreed with Mark Ingram that Alabama should not have been in the playoffs after the Georgia beat...

What if the Big Ten isn't all that and a bag of chips this year?

What is the excuse for Tennessee losing to Illinois? Discounting the Alabama vs Oklahoma game the only SEC win is a mismatch Ole Miss beating Tulane losing four. The BIG is six and one. Based on the bowl games Indiana will boat race Alabama. I hope our best teams are as good as their best teams.

What if the Big Ten isn't all that and a bag of chips this year?

I expected to get beat up a little bit about the BIG record and for the reasons stated. The SEC lost two more last night. The playoffs last year seem to say the SEC is not as dominate as its recent past. Hopefully that is an anomaly created by the new system, and adjustments will be made. I...

JessN: Indiana Preview: The Search for Analogs as Bama Goes Against an Unfamiliar Foe

Very interesting analyses. It is hard to rank Simpson better than Medoza at this point, although Simpson looked really good against Oklahoma. Simpson at his best is the strength of the offense. Some people think we will be able to run against Indiana and I am not sure why, but I think we can...

What if the Big Ten isn't all that and a bag of chips this year?

A&M scored 3 points against Miami is not a ringing endorsement for the SEC. In strength of schedule OSU and Miami are even so Miami might boat race OSU. Alabama's strength of schedule is 14 time harder than Indiana so we may do the same thing to them, but I am not betting against OSU or...

What if the Big Ten isn't all that and a bag of chips this year?

Lanning literally handed DeBoer the first win (two of the dumbest coaching calls I have ever seen) that season but was beaten soundly in the rematch. I am not high on Lanning. I prefer DeBoer over Lanning.

What if the Big Ten isn't all that and a bag of chips this year?

Right now the BIG is 5 and 0 in bowl games. Last year they were better than the SEC. The SEC is balanced but below Ohio State and Indiana with OSU being the better team. Nobody in the SEC can play with Ohio State week in and week out, but in one game stuff can happen.

    New Bloods VS Blue Bloods

Indiana is a good team, but not as good as Ohio State. Ohio State will probably win it all if Georgia does not derail them. If we happen to make the final I would rather face Ohio State. Kirby got the monkey off his back. The 1970 Nebraska team followed up by dominated us to win it all in...

Would you prefer Lane Kiffin to coach Bama over KD?

Yes. He has cleaned up his act to some extent. I thought Kiffen would go to Florida. My Florida fan doctor told me a mega donor pulled his support for Kiffen, which killed the deal. Having a few mega donors with that kind of power can be a problem if they stick their nose in too much. The...

Link: Kirby Smart Makes So Much Sense on the SEC 9th Game

SEC got five teams in the playoffs this year. How many does any conference deserve? Smaller regional conferences would be perfect with a 12 team playoffs system. The SEC teams will drop all real outside competition in the future so nine games if fine. SEC strength of schedule was recognized...
