Not many folks remember in 1969 Alabama wore these for most of their games-100 sticker celebrating 100 years of college football. Several other teams wore similar decals for the 1969 season.

Hmm this indicates to me that most likely Maryland thinks getting past the show cause (or getting it shortened) is a long shot. Either that or Maryland’s legal department didn’t want to mess with it.
