Really? Ask Duane Akina Co-defensive coordinator at Texas who was in charge of their defense - him or Gene Chizik (sp?), and before that him or Greg Robinson. Sometimes that title is given for reasons other than overall responsibility.

Surely you don't think Pelini was "in charge" of the defense while at OU. He was third in line behind Stoops and Venables. The better way to judge his abilities would be to look at what he did at Nebraska and is now doing at LSU.

Well, he does have a perfect 1-0 record as the interim HC at Nebraska with a win over Michigan State in the Alamo Bowl. :wink:
