This is actually the real issue, IMHO. Why do Tulane and JMU "have" to be included? Keep them out and you have all 3 of ND, Bama, and Miami in. Also, IMHO, I would put Duke in instead of James Madison.

So, just to add something. I was able to attend a scrimmage as well this Fall and I am a bit confused myself. What I took away from that scrimmage was the attitude defensively. I mean, we had guys on the defensive sideline literally celebrating each tackle/pbu/sack etc and really flying...

I'd move to a 4-team pod system and get rid of the SECCG. You play 9 conference games. You would play the 3 teams in your pod, and 2 teams from every other pod. 3 Non-conference games. Maybe look something like this: Pod 1 Florida Georgia South Carolina Vanderbilt Pod 2 Tennessee...
