Decline of the GOP episode XV

Utah bill would ban Pride flags in public schools but allow Nazi flags for educational use

...

When Lee introduced the bill in January, he said on X that his legislation “would ban Pride flags from schools” and allow parents to sue their child’s school district if the law is violated. On Thursday, he confirmed to the committee that Nazi and Confederate Flags would be included in the approved flags when applicable.

“There are instances where in classrooms, you have curriculum that is needed to use flags such as World War II, Civil War,” he said. “You may have a Nazi flag. You may have a Confederate flag, and so you are allowed to display those flags for the purpose of those lesson plans. If it is part of the curriculum, then that is OK.”

What was that stuff the Republicans wanted to ban in the classroom a couple years ago? Critical Race Theory.

But, we want to highlight 2 of the most oppressive movements in the last 150 years that probably killed 8 million people.

Please lets hear why we should support this legislation?

I can't be the only one whose initial thought was, "Utah's All-Mormon Schools allow PRIDE flags?"

:)

I'm not for censorship, but gee, you can't show them a picture of the flag in a book?

I don’t think you need to bring in an actual flag but showing a picture in a book is fine with me. The Confederacy had a number of flags so showing that the “bad” one wasn’t the official one might be a good educational tool.

I don’t see a real need to show a Nazi flag but a picture in a book is fine with me.

Showing the Pride flag if you are having a lesson on the civil rights movement seems fine with me.

If you are going to ban the Pride flag you should ban all of them just to avoid problems. You don’t need an actual flag (unless it’s a real one from the war the teacher wants to show off) to discuss it.

McConnell is retiring from the Senate.

OK, now watch the Democrats screw this one up when they have an excellent candidate in the governor’s office by running Ashleigh Judd or some other no talent.

This is some good news.

Rich McCormick: GOP congressman faces criticism and several boos at Georgia town hall | CNN Politics

Rich McCormick, who has been gerrymandered into a safe district he couldn't win before, is shouted at during a town hall meeting.

For those who don't remember or who have memory holed it: when Clinton took office in 1993, one of his most disastrous policy decisions was appointing the "we didn't elect her" schoolmarm looking crooked attorney known as his wife to reform American healthcare. Her appointment was.....not popular and it was seen in that case as precisely what it was, a payoff for her keeping her yapper shut after a few embarrassing episodes.

Then in 1994, they began having town halls on healthcare and utter rage was on display from the voters, many of whom supported Clinton in 1992. This was what led to the 1994 wipeout in the midterms for the blue team.

McCormick probably can't lose without scandal, but resources used in a close race to save him are resources that can't be used for other races to hold seats or expand the playing field.

Trump was elected to lower prices. Not be a king, not quote Napoleon, and not to lie about the Russia-Ukraine war.

And btw, we known Ukraine's leader (I can't spell it) cannot possibly be a dictator; if he was, Trump would be schmoozing his caboose like he does all the others.
