Keelon is my starter. No brainer really. They will start Ty and also want to implement Mack into this guy's system. Hope Keelon is patient...LOL!
I totally agree with a true freshman being expected to start. Some on here had Sayin starting as a freshman and we kind of know how that turned out. It is hard for me to know what drove Ty to stay at Alabama. That decision could have cost him millions! Klubnik who was rated close to Simpson out of high school has started for two years and is looking to the NFL draft. Regardless Ty has gotten a pretty tough deal with BOB leaving almost the moment he signed.I voted Ty for two reasons.
First, my heart. He's been loyal and waited his turn when 99.99% of other QBs in today's world would have bailed. He deserves the spot unless someone else is demonstrably better. IOW, he gets the benefit of any doubt.
Second, my head. It's just tough for a true freshman QB to come in and play championship football from the first game. Too much of a learning curve. That said, I hope Mack and especially Russell get enough reps to climb that learning curve.
I'm not ready to say that DeBoer won't play the backup QBs more than Saban did. If there really was some sort deal in place for Milroe to be the starter and hold the team together, than I'm not sure it would have been smart to give Simpson any more playing time than he did. If Simpson gets more live reps and plays well, then you have a potential crisis on your hands, especially if the starter had the support of the locker room. He may handle the backup QB reps differently now.Playing time is strictly on the coach. CNS had the same sort of issues with substituting players in my opinion.

I think he has more upside than the other 2. Speed, Stronger arm and more elusive. From my video study, he may be the next Jayden Daniels. Of course will that translate to college football? Who knows? I think it will. Camp will decide that.I’m curious….why do you say Russell is a no-brainer choice?

Agreed 100%.If Keelon starts I think we are in trouble. True freshman quarterbacks don't start and have success their freshman seasons. You can't find one in the history of college football that led their team to a championship as a full year starter. Yes, I realize Tua came in for 1/2 of a championship game.
Those predictions and the punter still comes on 1-2 times a game??? That's 1-2 times too many.Ty balls out! We go undefeated in the regular season. Ty is in the Heisman conversation. Mack and Russell get lots of playing time, because we average 40+ a game and the defense leads the nation in fewest pts allowed. Germ and Ryan 1000+ season. Young breaks out and rushes for 1000+. Punter only punts 1-2 times a game. OLine wins Joe Moore award.

My biggest questions aka "unknowns" about Ty are:
1. Can he throw with anticipation like DeBoer and Grubbs' offense demands? Because if he can't, the offense will not look much better than last season.
2. Can he make the right protection calls and audibles at the LOS? If not, the offense will not look much better than last season.
These two things, from a QB perspective, will be what defines our offense. If he can do the above two things, we can/will have an offense to be feared. But these aren't easy things to do either.
I'd say there's a 97.823% your two points will be improved on this upcoming season.
Only thing that really bothers me is that Ty didn't get much time last season or in 23. We should be going into 2025 with an experienced QB. The fact DeBoer never yanked Milroe and sent in Ty.....has a chance to cause losses this season just from lack of experience.
Everyone will be surprised at Ty Simpson abilityMy biggest questions aka "unknowns" about Ty are:
