It was a great run. Sorry to see it end. Hopefully we get some great new guys to replace the ones we are losing and they gets us a championship. Roll Tide! I am off to bed.
Sears and the core group have not handled “physical†defenses well in their time at Alabama. If the shots fall they can keep it close, but 8-32 is not going to cut it.
It says something about the talent level that Oats is drawing to Bama that a team that often didn’t equal or exceed the sum of its parts still made its second straight Elite 8 and put a great record up against the toughest schedule in the country. I appreciate how hard the guys played even when calls, luck or matchups didn’t go their way. Tonight was maddening but it was a terrible matchup. I’m curious to see how Oats adjusts the roster - maybe an honest to God 7-footer and a banger or 2. Maybe taller guards. Thanks Mark, Grant and Cliff, and best of luck going forward.
Great season. This group of seniors will be special in Tuscaloosa the rest of their lives. No double we were missing T-relly on a night like tonight. Had he’d been hot too we might’ve hit 125 vs. BYU.

Duke's size was the difference. I heard in the pregame they average 6' 8". Their 7' 2" center shut down the rim and made every rim shot difficult. And then their big guards impacted our smaller guards and we couldn't get clean looks.

Solid season, proud of them. Elite Eight is nothing to sneeze at. Let's run it back next year.

I’ve exhaled a little. When we all feel bad after an Elite 8 loss, we know we’ve arrived in this sport. Duke is one hell of a team. I remember the days of just making the tournament was great. We’ll have our day again soon. RTR.

To have taller guards they have to have elite speed, or get away with all the pulling and body checking duke got away with.
It’s not realistic.
Also, in Sears’ first season, Bama was playing at USA. I made the comment that Sears was better than JQ & Bradley. I got FLAMED in the game thread. He kept his head down and developed into a great player. The addition of Grant Nelson cannot be understated too.
Consistency would be great. We are either going to follow the rules or beat the hell out of each other. Just need to know how we are playing the game going forward.

I feel more confident we are in good shape to win a national championship within the next 3-4 years. We could have beat this team imo if the 3s were falling and a little tighter on D but hey it happens.
Duke is a great team this year, they earned it. Not ashamed at this loss at all. Unless something goes really bad for them, they will be in the championship game
