So private schools are in their own classifications now and do not have the 1.3x per student count. 7A is gone. The Single A class for private schools has a wide range for them and both private classifications will have some serious travel.

Like always, some schools have a really wide span of the schools in their region and it’s going to hurt at the gate.

This is not the end of things. You still have the AHSAA transfer/financial aid bylaws in place and in conflict with CHOOSE Act requirements.

And for what it’s worth. I’d love to see schools that recruit get busted and punished. Cullman HS is hated by everyone in the county that remembers all the recruiting they have done then turn around and beat the school the kid came from with them. Same goes for Walker/Jasper and Oneonta. I’ve heard that Thompson got caught red handed and only got a ‘don’t do that’. Hoover is guilty. The one I know of did get caught and wasn’t allowed to play. I’m not naive to believe they ain’t still doing it. I’m sure folks on here from around the state could name names of schools that recruiting in various sports.
