Not saying they down graded at the OC, but It was their defense that won this title, not just this game but throughout the year. Their YPC dropped from 4.2->4.1, but they ran it much more.

Looking from a long distance, Grubb’s biggest error was not doing what his boss plainly told him to do, which was to focus more on the run. That alone is worthy of dismissal.

Having said that, there is no doubt Alabama needs a meaningful upgrade to their running game. But watching all of these RBs just accentuates the fact that Alabama had almost nothing in the RB room. IMO, Alabama’s biggest shortcoming in the portal was not getting a proven RB. Yes, there’s great hope for Crowell, but will he be ready and is he what he appears to be? Dear is the only other hope and that is primarily because he’s essentially unknown. Everyone else appears to be JAG.
 
The Patriots’ offense was a problem most of the year. In only one of their four playoff games did they score more than 16 points. They won the AFC championship 10-7 against a team that had lost its starting quarterback the week before. As for their overall season, because the Patriots were so bad the previous year, they had an easier schedule this year. Their opponents’ combined winning percentage was the worst amongst all NFL teams.
 
Who won?

Football season is now officially over across the board.....I don't acknowledge the USFL or XFL or whatever its called now. Don't care.

Baseball season around the corner.

Still college basketball season. No one cares about the NBA anymore.

Braves report today for training camp.

I'll make a bracket or two......that's really all I ever do for college basketball.

I'd rather watch college baseball and softball.....and keep up with the Braves.
 
I watched, but was about 30 minutes behind the live broadcast.

What was the consensus about the game?

IMO, it was one of the most boring SBs I can remember in a while. While I was pulling for the PATS, because of my daughter-in-law and the fact that I like Drake Maye, I thought they looked like they didn't belong on the field. But it was also apparent to me that the Seahawks weren't that good either.

Kinda felt like I was watching the college football equivalent of the Dukes Mayo Bowl with a bad halftime show to boot!

An Alabama fan posted on Twitter that this must be what it felt like watching the 2012 BCSNCG and NOT being an Alabama fan, and he was right.

I'm not sure if anyone heard, but late in the second half Collinsworth and Terico addressed this indirectly, without mentioning Grubb's name. They said McDonald told them he was not pleased with the direction of the offense last season and knew changes needed to be made. They followed that statement up with bringing in Kubiak as the OC. So I took it as McDonald thought Grubb was the problem.
