Joey Aguilar reportedly denied 2026 eligibility, what's next for Tennessee at quarterback
Joey Aguilar will not play for the Vols again in 2026 after a Knoxville judge denied his request for an injunction
Take away eligibility...My guess? I’m thinking UT will make contact with QB on a roster elsewhere (tampering) and convince them to “unenroll” at their present school and then enroll at UT, thereby bypassing the NCAA portal.
I expect this to happen with few players this summer. There is literally nothing the NCAA can do to stop it.
Won’t happen. While the transfer portal is the NCAA’s recommended method of transfer, it isn’t mandatory. There is nothing the NCAA can do to stop it. As to eligibility, sure they could* attempt to do such, but it would most likely be futile. As long as a the player meets academic requirements at the new school, and meets the ncaa’s eligibility guidelines, there is little they can do.Take away eligibility...![]()

Case in point was the Wisconsin player that unenrolled outside the portal window. Then the following semester he enrolled at Miami. The NCAA stated once the player unenrolled he was no longer a student athlete. He was free to enroll wherever he wanted, and whatever eligibility he had remaining went with him.
Pavia mad with envy!if i'm a big Tennessee booster i'm hiring Montana linebacker Solomon Tuliaupupu (who has been granted a ninth year of eligibility by the NCAA) just to put my thumb in their eye.
The NCAA has more loopholes than all my insurance policies combined.Yet another loophole...![]()

And that would probably lead to lawsuits on top of lawsuits. The NCAA has pretty much lost any power to enforce anything.Take away eligibility...![]()
Man, that is a pretty big loophole. You could drive a truck through that loophole.Yet another loophole...![]()
