BREAKING Holloway arrested on marijuana charge - 03.16.26

Which raises another question for me. All I ever hear about these days are edibles. Are the masses still actually smoking large quantities of marijuana with all of it's associated downsides (smell, indiscreet, bad for your lungs, rolling/smoking paraphernalia all over the place, etc.)? Is it just easier to get compared to edibles?

It just seems to me that having an occasional "vitamin" gummy would be a lot more discreet for a high profile person looking to conceal their activities.
I’m 50. Never knew what it smelled like till the last couple years. Now I smell it everywhere. I have been in stores where someone who burnt one down had been walking through and there was a trail behind them that couldn’t be mistaken. Unless they somehow had a pet skunk.

I always thought it smelled more like burnt rope

A former work colleague of mine was up in New York for a business meeting that was being held in Manhattan. The meeting broke up around lunchtime and he decided to head back to his hotel, which was about six or seven blocks away. Instead of catching a cab or Uber he just decided it was a nice fall day and he would walk.

As he walked back to his hotel, he stated “all I could smell was weed everywhere”. The smoke break at lunchtime from years gone by had now turned into a let’s burn one before we go back inside of today..

42 here, and similar experience. There are several reasons Gatlinburg isn't what it used to be, but this is a major one.

I'm about to go to Vegas to see a show at The Sphere. This is the main thing I dread about the trip....all of the weed smoke EVERYWHERE.
Cruised outta nawlins last fall. We did burbon street the afternoon before we sailed and i was 100% contact high that evening when we got back to hotel. Felt so bad the next morning, it pretty well ruined our first day on the boat.

In a word, Yes.

That is exactly the burden of leadership.
In my opinion too many serious incidents. Felonies are serious for goodness sake and this is the second serious incident in 4 years.

I don't like it at, its embarrassing
How in the world do you think the coaching staff is supposed to keep up with all these kids 24/7?
AH made his own decision.
Don't lay that at the feet of the coaches.
Sometimes you can do all you can to steer people right and they just go left........

You do realize Saban also had a drug dealer on one of his teams? And that was not weed, it was much worse. Should Alabama have fired him then?

My memory of the smell from way back and the smell today are different. Marijuana smoke used to smell more like burning leaves in the 70's but now smells more like a skunk. The marijuana is processed differently now (cleaner) and is much higher in THC content; I think the smoke smell has changed.
