Im too young to remember the Wimp days. I do remember McD and crew making a sweet 16 in the mid 90s. And of course 2004. I just wanted to see one every now and then. We’re living in the golden days of Bama basketball with four in a row and five of six of making at least three second weekend. Not long ago just having one was a pipe dream.

Agree...and some teams will be coming after him AGAIN.

He could have the UNC job if he wanted it but our hope is CNO believes he's built a foundation that can get us to a NC. The last four years are proof we are very, very close!

Not closing the book on this year, yet...but we will have to overachieve to win out. Play defense and rebound like last night and we could make a run to the FF.

However, looking ahead....

I think the missing piece of the equation involves having another true alpha. Philon has been that guy this year. Think about another Brandon Miller type player. OR, imagine if we had gotten DeBantsa....we finished a close 2nd to BYU??? OR, maybe retaining Amari Allen will fill that role??? I'm not sure if he's dynamic enough (offensively) to be that player who can provide 20-25 points a game, though. Maybe one of the 3 guards who are committed??? OR maybe there is a true alpha who hops in the portal after the season who is looking for a place to go win a NC???

But maybe, just as important, is that player or two who can be like a swiss army knife that can score, rebound and make his presence known in the paint. Maybe the true freshman who got hurt could be that guy next year. Like a Chinyula from UF! Or maybe a player who's got the heart and attitude of #95. If Mallette were 6'10 instead of 6' 5", he might be that nasty player we need!

I hope CNO can go to the portal for a player or two like that..and maybe a budding super star!!!

That's an imposing margin....I know it's about betting, but the odds makers believe UM is a pretty heavy favorite.

I'll be honest, I've maybe watched them for about 30 minutes total all season long. I know they have some bigs on the interior that are talented, plus they have a former Bama guard/small forward, Namari Burnette, who plays a impactful role for them!

My question is, can they defend our perimeter game and force us to try to match them 2 points at a time??? That's what the best teams we've faced this year try to do. They force us off the line and encourage us to drive into the teeth of their defense knowing we don't like the midrange jumper.
