I hope everyone has a great time celebrating the greatest nation in history. In an hour or so, I'll be taking the family down the road to Cocoa Beach for a three-night stay. It's almost time for Lily to go back to school, and she won't come back home next summer, as she'll be doing her clinicals. My wife loves lighthouses, so we'll visit several on the trip to/from Cocoa Beach. What are your plans? Be safe if you are playing with fireworks. You don't want to earn the nickname "Stumpy."

BBQ ribs, slaw, baked potatoes, and ice cream. Staying home with my wife, staying mostly inside, and enjoying life. Though I am not thrilled with a lot of "stuff" going on today, I love our country and believe that we will somehow survive all this chaos.

Gonna try my hand at some ribs…again. Really don’t know what I’m doing. Have tried twice and feel like I failed the test but the kids wear em out. Got some pork chops to grill, baked beans and tater salad (made it today and it’s chilling in the fridge). Probably go somewhere to watch fireworks.
Happy Independence Day!
(I wish more people would use Independence Day, it’s the 4th of July to most everybody, but it’s a special day for Americans)

My wife slow cooks the ribs in a large crock pot, sauce added at some point. Never fails and they are delicious, fall off the bone good. Here's a good link so you can be chef of the day...

Too late, I didn’t come back after posting that and I already smell like smoke, but thank you. I have a friend who does something with Dr Pepper and an InstaPot.

Ribs on the big green egg is the only way to go. Perfection. No crock pot. No way. Also did burgers and dogs today, because that is America. Doing the low country boil tomorrow.
