2026 SEC Media Days/Coach Deboer 7/22/26 Conversation Starter

Coach was up at 8am our time this morning. I didn't get to listen in to it or before when he was on joxfm with cubelic/mcelroy. Anyone listen in and can fill us in? I know most of the time its just coach speak, but i'd still liked to have listened in and prolly will try to catch up on it later today. RTR

Listening to Coach Saban, Roman Harper and Dusty was very good after Coach DeBoer as well. Saban and Harper were definitely in favor of our defense playing more man to man.

DeBoer may not be the most charismatic but he isn’t giving any other teams or leagues bulletin board material when he stands at the podium. Finebaum evidently can’t stand him. He is getting better at these events but people will always compare him to Coach Saban. He has not embarrassed our University and he is telling us all in front of the media days what we need to improve on and he is actively doing it.

Anyone who still wants to see Coach Saban out of anyone that isn't Coach Saban needs to chillax. The misfits aside, CKD has seen the issues from each season, and sought to address them. He's literally done NOTHING to embarrass the University.

Finebaum is mad that someone else isn't doing his work for him by creating controversy. His career has been built on manufacturing rage and clicks, so when it gets too quiet for his bottom line, he seeks ant hills to make into mountains.

I watched both segments by DeBoer and Sumrall last night and was impressed with them both.

But have to say the very best part (for me) has been what Coach Saban has brought to the event. So grateful he didn't 'disappear' after his retirement as head coach at Alabama.
