I’ve enjoyed this thread and have some empathy for Tusk’s position. Much is (and probably should be made) of the OU loss but as I reflect on that game again, I can’t help but wonder what would have happened without the atrocious call made on RW’s negated TD. At the least it would have made the...
It would be hard to swallow having more than one rep from ACC, Big 12 or WAC (or whatever non-power 4) but we do live in an era of participation trophies. By the same token I wouldn't want to face Miami when Cam was on. The flip side of that token is that no team would be safe and I wouldn't...
Certainly could use just a tad more imagination from the OC and QB in this one than we got in the last but have to go with our guys getting 27 on the board and the Opposing team managing only 16. Let’s get back on track and see how the rest of the day goes! RTR! By the way I’m still tired...
The Good: the time I’ll save not worrying about Texas in the SEC championship game
The Bad: game plan, adjustments to game plan, execution of game plan, level of care demonstrated with the lack of planning and execution of game plan, the officials
The Ugly: the OL play, the QB play, the wide...
From what little I've seen of OU, their O is subject to being rattled and playing erratically. I think our D can do just that to them and our O will come along somewhere--projecting 31-10 but they may not get that TD and have to settle for another 3! RTR!!
I'm pretty sure you'd need a supercomputer to figure out the probabilities for each team going to the SEC CG and that would only get worse if Ga beats UT, and Texas or A&M lose before getting to their matchup and the two-loss team wins. Always I want to see us win the SEC but I certainly won't...
Decent but very small (comparatively speaking) team. I think our defense is on a mission right now and won't care about anything but dominance so I'm thinking 49-6 may be generous.
Think if I were calling the D, I'd start the blitz packages when we got off the bus and end them when the plane landed in T-town. Based on what I think I saw with A&M, you gotta move that qb.
For those panning the skits I'd just say it's worth every penny we're paying for it and I'm not sure where else to go for 3 minutes of football smiles. Of course, i've had 3 cups of coffee this morning too!
In all fairness, his team has continued to play hard for him but the injuries and inexperience in key positions has taken its toll. Don't know what the buyout is but also don't know who they could reach out to in order to make a great leap forward. I would like to see him succeed since I spent...
I think the real LSU came to light in the second half of A&M and I believe we are more like the team that beat UGA than the one that stumbled to Vandy (though w/o interceptions, the O played well enough but the D was confused) and UCheat (the D played well enough but the O couldn't get out of...
The Good: the play of the last 40 minutes of the game—especially the D’s.
The Bad: the play the first 20 minutes of the game (I actually texted a friend asking what game similar to football the kids in red jerseys were playing!)
The Ugly: watching young Cook try to go when he should have been...
Well, if both O and D play their top-third game then 34-17; if bottom-third then 17-34 and a split nets out at 24-23. Going top-third and picking 34-17! RTR!
PS: Don't have the patience to go through the other permutation!
Couple of mentions of the number of times Ryan was targeted and why I think that was an error. What I observed of him was that he is a young man who is getting physically tired from the grind of an SEC schedule and I believe the coaches need to lighten his load. UT did all they could to...
I sense this team and, unfortunately, this staff prepare up for the challenges and not for the others thus the dichotomies between UGA and Vandy—USCe. This is an up game if my theory is right (and I hope not) and we’ll be ready and rolling. All that said, would feel better with more experience...
Watched most of Vandy-Va Tech and some of Vandy-Mizzou and really enjoyed watching their QB. With a better supporting cast he could cause some ulcers but as many have noted our O-Line should be continuing to gel and our young horses should be keyed to romp. Steady performance overwhelms. 44-17.
Good: OL play was much improved and better disciplined.
Bad: Injuries.
Ugly: The look on opponents' faces when they learn Ryan is only 17 (for 5 more months no less!)
PS: I get the criticism of Jalen on the intermediate route passing (though to be honest, we aren't running that many plays...
Anytime you are in the discussion (especially a high profile discussion) for another job while you are negotiating the current offer is nothing but positive for your bottom-line I would think. I also think it was part of the reason all the Sexton represented coaches were in the discussion for...
