11 SEC Predictions

Wow, just wow. That guy must have been smoking some serious stuff. I don't think he mentioned Alabama once. He never gave us credit for anything. Tennessee will win the East ? Brantley will be an All SEC QB ? Sure it's possible but very unlikey. The winner of the Arkansas-LSU game will win the West ? Possible but unlikely in my opinion. That article was terrible.

I really like his predictions. I want the media to play up all these teams. It will be sweeter to stand back and watch them fall one by one.
Yep, Greg's gone... We will have a 'New' QB;
I seem to recall that GMac didn't do too bad in his first year as starting QB.
McNarron or Sims will have the benefit of playing behind a more experienced line than Greg did last year.
Yep, Julio has moved on... The writers would have you believe that pass completions will be few and far between without Julio.
Yep, Mark has moved on... The same writers failed to notice Richardson and Lacey seemed to be able to run the ball.
Ask Michigan State how they liked playing against our 4,5,6 string RB's?
I seem to recall that it looked like we were 'Running up the Score' when Eddie Lacy kept pounding the ball toward the end zone.
(CNS was the only one who could stop him)

Just like GMac, Julio, and Mark all stepped up and became leaders on the football field; I expect new leaders to step up and become household names...

My Prediction: With a little luck with injuries we could go all the way... again... :BigA:
OR... Worst case we could loose a couple of close games.

Seems pretty weak to me. But of course I thought Herbie's prediction last year that the Boogs would be undefeated going into the Iron Bowl was pretty weak too . . .

Yep, but to not even mention Alabama (who will be a unanimous top 5 team going into the season) anywhere in the article as a possibility to win the SEC is pretty bad. Already proclaiming Mettenberger as the next Cam Newton is outlandish too. I don't know if it was intentional of the writer or not, but if it wasn't, he dosen't follow college football as closely as he likes to make out.

The battle of the boot could decide the SEC West, but both LSU and Arkansas have to come to BDS. As for Zach M. at LSU, I think that is a gimme, if he can't beat out Jordan Jefferson and Jarrett Lee then he needs to pack up and go home. UT will not win the SEC East, my nod goes to UF even with a new coaching staff. Tyler Wilson will be the SEC top QB in 2011. The only one I agree on is unless Richt pulls off a miracle he will be gone. As for HC in waiting at USCe, forget it, Spurrier will not put up with that crap since it worked so well at FSU, Maryland, and Texas. As for Ellis Johnson to replace Spurrier, let's hope so, he is vastly overrated and IMO is a scum bag (sued Alabama after Dubose et al were let go).

I'm going out on a limb and saying Georgia will win the east. If our D line pans out the way it should and our young secondary fixes the mental errors of last season, then we win the west. Arkansas, I think, will be even better with Wilson than with Mallet. LSU will be very tough this year, as well. I think we will win two close ones against Arky and LSU, though.

That's what's wrong with the whole article. To say it's an AK/LSU battle for the west most likely means that at least one or possibly both of those teams come to BDS and win. To not mention that's the only way his scenario plays out is to ignore a very obvious fact.

I would first like to thank the author for writing this article. Keep it coming and get our boys motivated even more!

I think the same as you about UGA. They will finish 1st or 2nd in SECE. UF is a year or two away from contention again if there coaches pan out (I don't think Weis is a good recruiter). USC will be the other contender. I would be shocked if UT made the jump into contention this year.

The SECW is a little more competitive. Bama and LSU are top dogs with Arkansas a contender. Miss St is the dark horse.

Now, only 198 days until football season...........

Interesting read. I'd like to see more articles like this. I'm fine if it's a "given" by media pundits that Alabama won't be in the mix for the SECE championship. Good locker room material. A few more articles like this and Coach Saban may be able to convince the players we're the underdog going into every game. :Joker_PDT_47:

TN wins SECE??? That's nuts. Not enough depth. UGA or Florida win it.

I think next season things get back to normal and Bama plays Florida in Atlanta.

The only thing I'll agree with in the article is that the SEC Champ will play for the national title. But how prophetic is it of the writer to go out on a limb with that one?? lol

He says the opposite, Sip.

11) The SEC Champion will not play in the BCS Title Game
For years SEC haters have been accusing the SEC of being down and for the last five years the SEC has won the BCS Championship. The SEC will not be down this year but it will be even more balanced than it has in previous seasons. The West once again will dominate the league as the top 4 teams could be ranked ahead of any team in the SEC East in 2011. Of course no one predicted Auburn to go 14-0 but everyone did predict Alabama to do it last year and this year there isn’t a team that looks dominate this fall.

The top four SEC teams from 2010…Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn and LSU will be breaking in new starting quarterbacks. The East is a mess considering Florida has a new coaching staff, Georgia has no playmakers, South Carolina still has Stephen Garcia and Tennessee is still very young. Mississippi State lost a great DC, Ole Miss is starting over after renting Masoli for a season and Kentucky/Vanderbilt won’t change much. Someone is going to win the SEC, but don’t expect that team to be unbeaten this time around.

This is what it's like to be Auburn: Read articles about the SEC, and not be mentioned....
Anyway, let's not get used to it. Most will have us as a preseason top 5 team, and the favorite in the SEC. If not, then close
