Heard from Jess, as well as another source, we may sign around 28.

WR DeAngelo Peterson is now a soft committed to LSU. He says he is going to take all his official visits. He likes CNS and Alabama and he is going to visit after the season.

I'm sure when we are done in 08 we will have signed some linebackers, but I'm amazed how slow we have been to sign LB's and DL's the last few years concidering how few players we have at those positions. I mean playing DL or LB at any SEC school is a golden oppertunity and pratcically guarantee's you a serious look in an NFL camp.

and playing same under Nick Saban is like getting an invite to the new years eve party at the playboy mansion, its an opportunity most would not want let slip away.

QB Jordan Jefferson committed to LSU.

Another Jefferson For LSU

Jefferson said that he had a good feeling an offer was coming from when he spoke to Miles earlier in the week and he was told to bring his parents along so they could all talk.

“I had a good feeling that an offer was going to come when they asked me to bring my parents,” Jefferson said. “We had already talked about it and decided that if they offered I was accepting it on the spot because this is the one I had been waiting on. Ole Miss had offered and Auburn, Florida and Alabama started getting serious the last couple of weeks but this was the one I wanted.”

WR Chris Tolliver named Bama as his slight favorite over LSU. He said he is going to schedule an official visit to Bama in December.

My nephew Will Simons plays WR for Saint Xavier in Louisville Ky. Last week the kid had 190 yds in recpts and 1 TD, week before he had 139 yd and 2 TD's. Unfortunately for him the team has pretty much been a running team, so the passing side has been slim until thestar running back went down a few weeks ago and Will got to step up and makea diffeence. He want's to walk on which as most of us know is tough,but his heart wants him to come to Bama and try.

This would be a good time to walk on at Bama because attrition may leave room for more than the 25 slots we are allowed to fill. If he has good size and speed he will have a good chance to contribute somewhere.

Yep,thats right b/c from what I've heard many ex club Shula boys will be hitting the road to make room for players with better attitudes.

WR/TE Gavin Ellis had a very good senior year and he only has one offer from Troy. Watching his video, he is a very tall and talented, physical receiver with good hands that also blocks well. It seems like he should have much more interest in. He does not mention any interest in Alabama. This is the type of WR/TE you would like to see walk-on to Alabama. It will be interesting to see where he ends up and what type of college career he has.

Scout.com has Jefferson as the #18 QB recruit in the country. He originally denied having a leader, then committed to Rutgers two days later, then committed to LSU, and has now re-committed to Rutgers.

I don't know if he's done or not, but either way it's worthy news at the moment.

Sounds like that guy out of Bastrop who was committed to us for months last year, then switched to Ole Miss, and then shocked everyone by signing with Mississippi State on NSD.
