*** 2015 DT Jonathan Ledbetter Commits to Alabama ***

Re: ***2015 DT Jonathan LedbetterCommits to Bama ***

He certainly has good size & could grow into DT if he hasn't stopped growing..And with his speed that might not be a bad thang at all..JMHO

Talented kid with good upside. Glad to have him aboard. He's basically the prototypical build that we are looking for in the combo end-tackle position. Once he fills out his frame he'll probably play between 300 and 310 pounds.

this one isn't getting a lot of fanfare with NSD '14 so close, but this is a big pick-up.

Yep. He was one of the top juniors on defense at the UA combine. Smitherman is another that performed well that I hope we can add.

LOL, nice reference from Brother Dave. :)

Actually it's Jerry Clower and not Brother Dave.:) And I was mistaken anyway ...the story was about John Ewebanks and not John Ledbetter...oh well.

Re: ***2015 DT Jonathan LedbetterCommits to Bama ***

Ledbetter is a player mentioned in the possible flips from our current commits. Things just seemed to raise those odds. Link

Joe Ledbetter, the basketball-playing older brother of four-star 2015 recruit Jonathan Ledbetter, plans to enroll at UGA and join the Bulldogs football team for preseason camp this week, Jonathan has confirmed to Dawgs247's Jake Rowe.

Dawgs247's Rusty Mansell has also confirmed the news independently.

Listed at 6-foot-5, 220 pounds, Joe Ledbetter comes to Georgia after two seasons as a basketball player at NCAA Division II Pfeiffer University (N.C.), where he averaged 3.4 points and 4.7 rebounds per game last season.

He plans to switch to football now and try tight end at UGA. He will also be on scholarship, according to younger brother Jonathan.

That's pretty hilarious - straight out of the Keenan Allen playbook, but more brazen still. (A D1 football scholarship in the SEC to a DII basketball player who averaged a couple of points and rebounds a game over his two-year career, hmm.)
