ND ran all over teams but the few who could at least make them complete a few passes. They did win 10 last year v. a tough schedule.

Why sign AJ and then trade up for a QB ?

AJ was cheap, he's something like the 33rd highest paid on a short contract. His signing that cheap set him up for something like this unfortunately, they're not invested enough to worry about AJ. There are backups making more than him, so now the Bills have a first round draft pick that they can play whenever he is ready without worrying about what to do with AJ.
