2025 Recruiting: 2025 Recruiting Targets, II

Day is under a ton of pressure to win it all this season. Just making the playoffs isn't going to cut it, especially seeing there are now 12 playoff spots. I don't think they win the NC because teams like this, who are touted to have a super roster many times fall short. Does 2010 ring a bell? I'm still butt hurt to this day that team didn't win a NC.

They also don’t have an elite qb. That will probs bite them at some point

It took Miles a while to run LSU into the ground. If CKD can keep the current support staff, or even improve some, he could keep the descent to a minimum for a while.
I would argue that the current staff is as good or better than almost any staff under Saban. Guys will get poached but I think he can replace guys. Saban had a harder time in my opinion because he was difficult to work for.

Saban's age became an issue not just for recruits, but for assistants. In one of his post-retirement interviews, Saban mentioned this as one of the things he was having to deal with as he aged. Now granted, there's no doubt being hard to work for was also a reason some didn't want to work for him either. So there were two things working against him in the last four to five years of his tenure.

CDK is more in line with coaching the modern player and how he handles his assistant coaches. Which ultimately will enable him to stay competitive with recruiting and hiring assistants. This transition probably came at the best time it could have. If it were this season I doubt we get CKD or anyone better. We probably take a step down in who we would have hired.

I still think that Ryan Day even remotely being on the Hot Seat is Insanity and reeks of an entitled fanbase.

He's 56-8 overall (.875) and 39-3 in the B1G (.928)

Now I get that he's lost to Mich 3 straight seasons but being ready to fire him just for that is a bit myopic.

He made the NCG in 2020 but unfortunately for him tOSU ran into a Buzzaw that was Bama's best team of All-Time. NOBODY was beating our 2020 team.

He also should have beat UGA in 2022 (if not for a missed FG) and made a 2nd NCG. If they make that kick they are Clobbering TCU for a NC just like UGA did.

He's been very close to winning a NC twice already and the man is only 45 years old.

CNS was 52 when he won his 1st NC in 2003 at LSU.

If they can Ryan Day for not winning one this year they will deserve to make a bad hire and drop to a 8-4 to 9-3 type team and watch another Blue Blood hire Day and win a NC while they watch.

I'm telling you they will regret it because he's a Great HC.

3 straight Ls to UM who just won the natty, days gotten two title games but was ran out of the building in 2020 and couldn't close the deal in 2022. Also he's done that with all the talent and support anyone could ever ask for. Any major fan base would be antsy. He will lilley get a w against UM at least but they have a much tougher conference with the new additions this year so who knows.

Its Title game or hes fired or nfl bound. And as talented as his roster is, bama uga ole.miss Texas and Oregon really aren't far behind if behind at all. At some point he's has to not choke.

Or maybe he gets massively "restructured" at the very least. You know the auburn special.

Choke is a pretty harsh and unfair way of putting it.

All 3 games vs Mich were Top 5 matchups and 2 of them were on the road.

The 2020 NCG loss they were the 3 seed to our 1 Seed.

The 2022 Semi loss to UGA they lost by 1 point as the 4 Seed to the 1 Seed UGA.

The only time that he maybe should have won was at home vs Mich in 2022 but the only thing that changes is they are the #2 seed and play UGA in the NCG instead of the Semis.

It not like he's going undefeated and then losing to a Top 20-25 or NR Michigan team and missing the playoffs.

We've lost to worse AU teams than Day has lost to Mich teams.

People are being way too harsh about it.
