I would assume a no-show since he just committed to the Barn. Bad flips in the last couple of days and we need some good news. Hearing Feagans is going to commit to the Barn later today also.
That would make it 8 out of top 10 Alabama HS players committed to the barn (the other 2 to OSU).
Not sure that it is sustainable to lose in-state players like that

That is per 247. We have one in On3 (Rogers) and two on ESPN (Debose/Rogers) but your point is valid to a degree. This staff being new and the Barn's propaganda has had it's effect on in-state recruiting during this cycle.

On a more positive note, we are still #2 overall and #1 in the SEC on both 247 and On3 in the team rankings.

Sounds like big ca$h weekend was a $ucce$$ for the boogs.

That's ok, at the level that we are recruiting we will find equal or better replacements for them. They may just have done us a favor...

If you're not looking to wallow...sounds like we may be making a move for Jordan Young. A 4 star top 150ish safety out of north Carolina. Worth keeping an eye on.

Sharma also flipped from Oregon to Texas recently. I don't think that one is exactly done yet and I'd keep an eye if we get him on campus for a game this season.

We unexpectedly lost the greatest coach in the history of college football back on January 10. We replaced him with a guy that is 104-12 and was just in the national championship game. Give him a minute to figure the whole recruiting the state of Alabama thing out. He hired an amazing staff (better than most of Saban's staffs at least the last 4-5 years). They need some time. When DeBoer shows this year what he can do, the best recruits in the state of Alabama will want to play for him. They might like money but they will realize losing at Auburn with money in their pockets does not making losing more enjoyable.

By the way, I am pretty sure DeBoer currently has Alabama at number 2 in the nation in recruiting (on3). Something tells me Bama will be ok.

Young is a nice looking prospect. Looks like Clemson may be in the lead.

Sharma already flipped from Oregon to Texas? That was fast. Sounds like a battle of NIL $.

I’d fret over this too if those 8 were better than the kids we have “committed “. Personally, I don’t care if they’re from Mars if they meet our needs from a quality and positional needs perspective.

While this weekend wasn’t fun to watch, every dog has its day and unfortunately auburn is going to get their fair share of good recruits. Our class right now is better top to bottom than theirs and I certainly wouldn’t trade groups. I think with time DeBoer and company will develop relationships in state that will help recruiting here in the near future.

Relax people...this is a whole new world. I've been following recruiting on this site for over 23 years and we have had our ups and downs...even under CNS. Somewhere early in CNS' tenure he did not recruit a record setting QB from somewhere in South Alabama. He was getting roasted somewhat here...heard from a friend on staff that CNS did not think he could play D1 and they had higher ranked recruits from out of state. He went to AU, did not play much, and we had who we needed. Unless you are in Texas or Florida or Cal you can not just recruit your state.

Bear in mind that Saban's first full class was in 2008. That year was considered by many recuiting services as the best Alabama in- state class on paper. He was able to secure the top players in the state along with some out of state talent. It was the class that ultimately propelled Alabama into the greatest Dynasty in CFB history. But he was able to accomplish that feat due to the very fact he was already a successful, championship winning HC in the deep South. Saban was a known quantity around these parks after establishing relationships with surrounding high schools and their coaches for 5 plus years. The 2025 Alabama in-state class has ten 100 players according to most services which is very good by any metrics and possibly the best class since 2008. Now here comes the Rev. Freeze, another known quantity who has had many mores years than Saban himself in the South ( Arkansas st, Ole Miss, Liberty) before arriving to auburn. Unexpectedly, Saban leaves, Bama hires a Deboer who has no connections whatsoever to the South. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that auburn and Freeze quickly seized a golden opportunity to mob up the majority of the Top 10 Alabama players who make up the bulk of their class.
Yet Deboer a complete outsider not only has his first class on the verge of ranking #1 or at least Top 3 overall when its all said and done, but was able to nabbed some elite players in the South while recuiting nationality. It's been just 6 months since he's been on the job to replace the GOAT!! Once, Deboer and his Bama squads make some noise on the field while his staff is building relationships with Alabama high schools and known powerhouses in the region, auburn and the rest of the SEC will know exactly who Deboer is.

I think the Barn knows they can't recruit nationally so they're going to out-bid us with Yella wood money for In-State players. Try to get the rep that Pat Dye had during the last years of Coach Bryant and during the Curry years. Get all the best AL High School players and their coaches on their side.

It's their best strategy and truthfully, not a bad one.

It's not a bad strategy at all, especially in a loaded class! I have repeatedly mentioned that I don't blame them for going after probably the best in-state class in a long time. You're 100% correct in that they can't recuit nationality with the likes of Bama, so stick with what you know best.

All this and…..You can bet the ranch that Freeze and company are playing the card in which “ Look, Alabama doesn’t REALLY care about Alabama kids! Look where their recruits come from. WE, on the other hand……” I agree that Freeze is trying to make hay while the sun shines.

Of course. They already made a public comment about not needing to go to California for players. Clearly a jab at Alabama's recent success there. Negative recruiting is real and it works on a lot of these young corporations (not calling them players anymore). That's how the barn has always done it.

“Young corporations “. Kinda like that. An accurate description, IMHO. Sure ain’t “ student athletes “ anymore, for damn sure.
