2025-They died this year

  • Hi Guest, we are working on updating the site servers and software. We're also 'forcing' everyone to read and agree to our site privacy policy and terms of service. There are no significant changes to either of these but the terms page does clarify a few things that are mostly in the legalese. You can just click the checkbox for both and continue using the site as usual! We'll update you more on the site upgrades VERY soon! THANK YOU AS ALWAYS for supporting the site and being an active participant!

My wonderful and very lovely Sister In Law just succumbed to a three year battle with Pancreatic Cancer at her home in Beaverdam, Ohio this afternoon. My wife has been there with her these past three weeks and throughout the entire three year ordeal. She was a very unique person with gifts that few of us possess. I would like to write more to commerate her as a person but felt a need to to note her passing this afternoon.
I am intrigued and would love to see your memories...prayers for the family.

Joan B. Kennedy, the former wife of Sen. Edward M. Kennedy who endured a long and troubled marriage marked by family tragedies, her husband’s infidelities and her own struggles with alcoholism and mental health, died on Wednesday. She was 89.

The former Joan Bennett was a model and classically-trained pianist when married Ted Kennedy in 1958. Their lives would change unimaginably over the next decade and a half. Brother-in-law John F. Kennedy was elected president in 1960 and assassinated three years later. Brother-in-law Robert F. Kennedy served as attorney general under JFK, was elected to the U.S. Senate in 1964 and assassinated while seeking the presidency.

The Moody Blues singer and bass guitarist, John Lodge, has died at the age of 82, his family have said.

Lodge, who was born in Birmingham, played on some of the group’s best-known songs including Nights in White Satin, Question and Isn’t Life Strange.

“It is with the deepest sadness that we have to announce that John Lodge, our darling husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law and brother, has been suddenly and unexpectedly taken from us,” his family said in a statement.

I remember when his baseball card was a big deal (spring of 1989) right after he finished 2nd to Jose Canseco in the MVP race. He suffered badly from thyroid cancer, and I hate that.

Mike Greenwell dies at age 62
Man I just saw this in one of my Baseball Card groups.

Had no idea he was ill.

Great Hitter for the Red Sox in the late Mid 80s through the 90s.

Feels way too young to go.

RIP
