And by the way, let’s not pat them on the back over sexual assault. Just a month ago, a bunch of them made the equivalent of a pilgrimage to Mecca to back this slimeball because his accuser was a Republican. Bernie, Gallego, Warren, Kahana, all of them are stinking and rotting to the core hypocrites that are no better than Donald Trump.

It’s amazing to me that They suddenly decided to believe the accuser when, oh yes, polls began coming out, showing he wasn’t the shoo-in they thought.

They lied about Biden‘s health until polls showed They were going to lose. They lied about this until polling showed they were going to lose.

If the Nazi tattoo wasn’t enough for folks - we are not talking about the governor of Virginia posing with a confederate flag as a teenager, we were talking about a guy who had that tattoo for another 18 years - if that wasn’t enough to draw the line for one’s moral compass, don’t ever again talk to me about how “but Trump is worse” and “but Kavanaugh.”

He showed all of us who he was from the get-go, and a number of folks didn’t have ANY problem with that when they thought they were going to win a seat.

Btw - if he didn’t do that which he is accused, he has no business dropping out of the race. If he did, it’s time to crank up the wheels prosecution.

Finally, the truth of the matter. Most Dems don't give a crap about these accusations, but they DO care about winning and right now, Platner is radioactive. I think the guy just got Biden'd. TBH, part of me wanted Platner to win. Collins needs to go and the idea of progs electing a nazi was just hilarious to me.

Finally, the truth of the matter. Most Dems don't give a crap about these accusations, but they DO care about winning and right now, Platner is radioactive. I think the guy just got Biden'd. TBH, part of me wanted Platner to win. Collins needs to go and the idea of progs electing a nazi was just hilarious to me.

It's been disappointing to see prominent Democrats support Platner until they had no other choice. Winning in November and regaining the trust of the base as well as rational independents must be the strategy. That doesn't happen with unsavory and morally compromised candidates. The American people deserve better than they have now and Platner was not a step in that direction. His posting history and the tattoo debacle should have made that clear long ago. The sexual misconduct allegations are just confirmation of that.

fwiw, the “lefty” blogs i peruse had quite a lot of folks with a severe dislike of platner from the get go and were worried that something like this would happen

Dems hardly have a monopoly on questionable candidates who got endorsed despite troubled pasts. This is only of my biggest gripes with modern day voting. It is not uncommon to have to choose between two lousy candidates. In situations like this, party affiliation seems to matter very little.

It’s not 2024 at all but with two caveats:

1) the side suddenly expressing concern about someone’s health lost all credibility on the issue when they spent two years lying about the last guy

2) the health of a president is far more unimportant because unlike even a Senate Majority Leader (which McConnell was) doesn’t carry the nuclear football and doesn’t have the power to unleash an orgy of death.

Democrats don’t care about his health beyond “we want that Senate seat” and neither do Republicans. If Andy Beshear was a Republican, we’d know more about McConn Man’s health.
