Finally, the truth of the matter. Most Dems don't give a crap about these accusations, but they DO care about winning and right now, Platner is radioactive. I think the guy just got Biden'd. TBH, part of me wanted Platner to win. Collins needs to go and the idea of progs electing a nazi was just hilarious to me."Graham Platner needs to immediately withdraw as the Democratic nominee for Senate and allow Maine Democrats the opportunity to choose a new candidate who can defeat Susan Collins."
It's been disappointing to see prominent Democrats support Platner until they had no other choice. Winning in November and regaining the trust of the base as well as rational independents must be the strategy. That doesn't happen with unsavory and morally compromised candidates. The American people deserve better than they have now and Platner was not a step in that direction. His posting history and the tattoo debacle should have made that clear long ago. The sexual misconduct allegations are just confirmation of that. Finally, the truth of the matter. good thing no one is really defending platner, i guess

ah, i didn’t see the dateHis tweet is from June 4, when 99.9% of Democrats were defending him, even after sexual assaulted allegations.
(Watching Lefty, Twitter and them trying to get out and say “see, unlike republicans, we remove our candidates who do bad stuff.” Sure they do. That’s why the last revelations were dismissed - the woman making them was the member of the wrong party).
Dems hardly have a monopoly on questionable candidates who got endorsed despite troubled pasts. This is only of my biggest gripes with modern day voting. It is not uncommon to have to choose between two lousy candidates. In situations like this, party affiliation seems to matter very little. It's been disappointing to see prominent Democrats support Platner until they had no other choice. He is no Ted Kennedy. To my knowledge, he has never left a woman to die in a pond.A guy with alcohol issues who has been inappropriate around women wants to run as a Democrat? Who does he think he is, Ted Kennedy?
his better half doesn’t seem too concerned about it, but did feel the need to call in the p.r. swat unit….Are we concerned about the health of McConnell and his ability to do his job? Or is that just so 2024 to focus on old guys' health?

fwiw, the “lefty” blogs i peruse had quite a lot of folks with a severe dislike of platner from the get go and were worried that something like this would happen
