Comparison of A.J. Green to Julio Jones? Just watched Green's video and his skills looked equivalent to Julio's - looks like Georgia got a very good commitment. :aiwebs_006:

I think Green has been profiled as more of a make something happen in space kind of guy where as Jones is more of a possession guy. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Both are exceptional athletes and UGA has a excellent commitment in Green.

The biggest difference to me is the size and physicality disparity. JJ is 6'4" 210+ and very strong where as Green is 6'3" 190~ and not nearly as strong. They're both phenomenal athletes however and UGA has certainly got themselves a good one in Green. You couldn't go wrong with either one IMHO.

JJ a posession receiver?..

Green might make things happen in space like barry sanders..

but JJ makes things happen in space like barry sanders AND a train..

JJ will either break your ankles or knock you over with his stiff arm..

I agree.

JJ is more physically imposing and a lot stronger. That is the biggest difference in the two to me. Not taking anything away from Green, but I would prefer JJ hands down over Green. Physically, JJ looks like an NFL football player now.

I've heard JJ is comp is that of Randy Moss' athelthicism with TO's toughness/route running ability. To me that sounds like a poor man version of Calvin Johnson.

I've seen their profiles and they say that they have the same 40 time. Well I've heard that JJ is really even faster than that lately with a sub 4.4 or close to it (well they were saying something along those lines during that daphne game). JJ's stronger, faster, but I'd be happy with either one...only happier with JJ

I agree I would rather have JJ, but I was at a game two weeks ago and watched Green beat the other team almost single handed. It was quite a show. UGA got a good one at a position that they needed to strengthen.

Have you seen Julio in action? He's is a possession guy. And typically that possession ends up with an extra point after he gets the ball.

Yup watched him on the TV last week. Seems I was wrong about possession guys, but I was under the impression that someone who could routinely go up in double coverage and come up with the ball was a possession guy. Oh well my mistake.

typically a possession guy is slow and unathletic .. but dependable....

THAT IS DEFINITELEY NOT JULIO JONES!

julio is the complete package if you ask me..

I wouldn't say any receiver at this level is slow just not as fast as others. Of course when I first said possession i misspoke because all I could think of was the jumping over guys which define possession. He is really classed as a 'Balanced' receiver with enormous talent to be a good receiver as either a possession or speed guy if he didnt have one or the other.

People like T.O., Roy Williams, Calvin Johnson are guys that can routinely snatch the ball out of double coverage over the middle...but can also be home run hitters. And that's what Julio can be aswell

think of it this way. Randy moss is to T.O. as AJ green is to JJ. A.J. is more of a burn you deep guy who can win most jump balls and and has exceptional talent when it comes to hands and atheletic ability. JJ is a big physical reciever who can get of the jam and has TREMENDOUS atheletic ability and very good hands. AJ probably has better hands than does JJ. Theyre both special talents. If they pan out and stay healthy both are likey high first round draft picks.

I agree with you. Green is an outstanding prospect. I think he'll do very well at Georgia. No knock on Green at all, I would just rather have JJ because he is just bigger and stronger, yet still has the speed. In short I just think JJ is a freak.
