A question about John Parker Wilson

What are the chances that JP Wilson will go play pro baseball?

I understand that he could be as high as a third round draft pick and that kind of money can be hard to refuse. If he does sign a college letter of intent, I'm confident it will be with Alabama. I just have a bad feeling about him going pro.

Can anyone give me any insight?

This is what I know. John Parker Wilson is raised by big Bama fans and his mother was a Alabama cheerleader. The Mom is a sister to a former player at Tuscaloosa High School by the name of Dennis Ingram. He was a tough, gritty little player. The Dad played at the old West End Christian School in Tuscaloosa. He was drafted by the Red Sox and played pro baseball in the minor leagues for 3-4 years. JPW is an outstanding baseball player. He can play both sports at Alabama. This info comes from some good sources in Luverne. SP

First off, John Parker is an overated QB. He has put up stellar numbers the past 2 seasons for 2 reasons. His junior season he had a playmaker in Chad Jackson. The season he has excelled due to the offense Propst has installed at Hoover. Hoover runs a spread offense and most of JP's passes are thrown less than 5 yeards, but the WR's and Backs gain 10+ yards on the run.

JP is a decent pitcher is no where near the ability to be drafted and sustain a career in pro-baseball. He will more than likely go to school and play baseball.

Don't get your hopes up on Wilson. Bama will most likely not sign him because Shula told him there will be no baseball. Wilson wants to play both. With the emergence of Guillon Bama may forgo signing a QB.

You gotta love thisw dude's theory that good stats don't count if you play on a good team with other good players.

My guess is that we'll extend a gray shirt offer to JPW. During that year he'll grow a few inches and put on a few pounds. His Freshman year he'll become the 2nd teamer and look pretty good (outside of a DUI on UT week) and start as a Sophomore. Just a hunch though.

Well being from Vestavia I had heard for a long time that Chad Jackson made John Parker Wilson's career at Hoover. If you look at Wilson's highlight video it looks like Jackson's hightlight video. And of course we all saw what Jackson did at Florida and now he is going to the NFL. I believe Wilson will turn into a pretty good player now that I have seen him some at Bama. But when he was coming out of high school I was not so sure.
