May the steelers (my team growing up in the 70's) get the full Aaron Rodgers experience. I do not understand why any team wants him at this point. He must offer something in the locker room that we aren't seeing on/off the field. His schtick and sour attitude is tiresome.

As a Steelers fan I was hoping we traded Pickens for a higher draft pick to build some more confidence in the future and take our lumps with Howard and Rudolph.

However the Steelers are in “win now” mode in that most of the defense will be gone after this year unless some major financial restructuring is made. The thought is that Rodgers and Tomlin has one more run left and they want to push it all in to see what can happen despite the costs.

Alot of this is due to allowing Ben Roethlisberger deciding his own contract after decades of cut throat spending by the organization. It really held the Steelers hostage for years and never allowed us to move on.

As for Fields… if given the choice of riding one year with Rodgers or riding multiple with Fields I would choose the headache of Rodgers only because Atleast it makes sense on a production standpoint

Should have ridden with Fields to the top of the draft next year ;)

Honestly I would have much preferred Rudolph or Howard if we were thinking about a higher draft pick. Fields is just a different type of cancer and I must reiterate this… Steelers are in a Win now mode because next year is going to be rough unless TJ Watt has a contract that is friendly to the franchise. It’s why I never bought into the Jalen Milroe to Pittsburgh nonsense.

The whole infatuation with Rodgers by the Steelers has always been under two assumptions. The first being “we are one quarterback away from getting to the Super Bowl” and “Rodgers still has a little left in the tank”. I think that is why we are willing to take the crazy risk of getting him

I don't think Tomlin has ever had a losing record.
He doesn’t but our last playoff win was against the Chiefs… in 2016.

I think Tomlin is one of the best coaches but it is kinda getting old to be one and done in the playoffs. Now not all of that is his fault because like I said… the Roethlisberger contract is still killing the Steelers. But then again if you ask any Steelers fan born before 1999 “who is the best Steelers coach in the post Noll era?” You would have a near unanimous “Cowher” answer. Hell you probably would have a decent amount say Cowher might be better than Noll with his one.

The point is that Tomlin starting to get that Marvin Lewis smell to him amongst many Steelers fans.

This is bad news for the Failcons. They are now stuck with the overpaid, overrated liar Cousins.
Well it could always be worse
