That’s all well and good except for the minor problem that if you have an odd number of teams you can’t have a schedule with an odd number of games. So instead of doing the simple thing like inviting UCONN (mediocre football but basketball powerhouse), they will have one team only play eight conference games.
I guess it’s hard to expect logic from a conference that lets Notre Dame park their Olympic sports there and has two members in California despite having Atlantic in the conference name.
