Heck of a way to talk about an 18 year old kid.
Comes with the territory. Moh money, moh problems.Heck of a way to talk about an 18 year old kid.
Money or not it doesn't matter. That isn't how you talk about an 18 year old kid unless you're in the business of ruining careers. We've seen it before.Comes with the territory. Moh money, moh problems.
He's an adult, quit acting like he's a child.Money or not it doesn't matter. That isn't how you talk about an 18 year old kid unless you're in the business of ruining careers. We've seen it before.
Nothing he said was even productive. He just ragged on him.
Good, maybe someone that can help the kid will see it and make him focus on getting better. He obviously didnt do that in the off-season.Money or not it doesn't matter. That isn't how you talk about an 18 year old kid unless you're in the business of ruining careers. We've seen it before.
Nothing he said was even productive. He just ragged on him.
He's a young adult. His brain hasn't even fully developed. He's an adult, quit acting like he's a child.
If he doesn't care for the spotlight, that's his choice.
And how do you know he didn't do that? Can we stop with the speculation, please?Good, maybe someone that can help the kid will see it and make him focus on getting better. He obviously didnt do that in the off-season.
This kid is basically a leader on the team, he makes the most money, he's going to take more criticism.
Nothing AJ said wasn't true.
Adulthood means you deal with the real world. He's a young adult. His brain hasn't even fully developed.
It's not an excuse to rag on a kid and provide no productive feedback. I'd expect a lot more from a former player at this program. Disgusting behavior.
He could of just said "He didn't play well, got a couple of technical things wrong, he's got improvement to do but I trust that'll happen."
I'm not saying criticism isn't allowed. It's the way it's handed out though. It's not productive in anyway.Adulthood means you deal with the real world.
He’s getting adult benefits so he gets to deal with adult criticism.
If he doesn’t like it, he can suck it up or choose not to participate. This is the real world.
Gentle parenting doesn't work. It produces weak adults who cannot cope in the real world. AJ said nothing out of line.I'm not saying criticism isn't allowed. It's the way it's handed out though. It's not productive in anyway.
The kid is young and early in his career.
Because he looks the exact same. His route running isnt great. His priorities appear off for a kid his age to be able to focus on what has made him a household name in Alabama. And how do you know he didn't do that? Can we stop with the speculation, please?
He got thrusted into the spotlight as a 17 year old and he's been made a leader of this team and he didn't have much of a choice.
I'm not saying we need to parent him gently. He has his own parents. What we need to do is support the kid.Gentle parenting doesn't work. It produces weak adults who cannot cope in the real world. AJ said nothing out of line.
What do you mean looks the same? What is the same? Without him last year we would have been in trouble.Because he looks the exact same. His route running isnt great. His priorities appear off for a kid his age to be able to focus on what has made him a household name in Alabama.
The things AJ said are true. Ryan can either suck it up and work or he can sulk. Whether he likes it or not he is the spotlight on the team.
I listened to the entire segment. AJ didn't say anything out of line. Blunt? Yes, but not out of line. He wasn't "ragging" on him.I'm not saying we need to parent him gently. He has his own parents. What we need to do is support the kid.
How do we do this? Be kind, not nice. Don't have to be agreeable with the kid. We be kind by pointing out flaws and then helping them overcome that in an appropriate manner.
That is not what AJ is doing. Ragging on a player but saying every aspect of their game is awful is not exactly how you support a player.
You sure?I listened to the entire segment. AJ didn't say anything out of line. Blunt? Yes, but not out of line. He wasn't "ragging" on him.
Harsh yes, but i just really dont see anything that was out of line there. You sure?
I quote:
"Was some of the worst route running I've ever seen in my life. Ever. He was nonexistent in this game."
"He plays way too high, he doesn't look any bigger, he doesn't look any stronger, or any faster," McCarron continued. "He runs way too high for a slot receiver. He was getting gloved in this game. I was standing on the sideline, watching it, with my own two eyes, right there on the sideline. Had a perfect view. And this kid was getting gloved. He needs to step up. All this hype and everything, guess what? You are not getting drafted off one year. You're not Jeremiah Smith, brother. Jeremiah Smith could've came (out) last year and been the first pick overall. You're not at that level. So step up, make plays and get open. You're jogging way too many routes. Somebody needs to challenge him."
Sounds like something I'd say about an Auburn receiver.
The first line should raise concern.Harsh yes, but i just really dont see anything that was out of line there.
