AJ McCarron Mentions A Silent Commitment

It wouldn't be Tana because Offensive players room with other offensive players, if I'm not mistaken. Maybe KK or RR.:BigA:
I'm not sure that's all that true. Maybe it is however a Alabama rule.

I'm pulling for it to be Randle. I did not watch all of the game but from what I saw RR and McCarron had pretty good chemistry on the field.

I personally thought McCarron tried too hard to target Randle. To me, Randle did nothing spectacular in that game, despite having the ball thrown to him ample times. After his performance in the game, Pat Patterson jumped way up my list, and I'm sure the same can be said for the Alabama coaching staff.

Nico Johnson is probably the last commit anyone should waste any time worrying about whether or not he will sign with Bama.

And that's great news for us. His speed sideline to sideline is and his sure tackling was incredibly impressive in the All-Star game yesterday. I don't know what the coaching staff's plans for him are, but I could see him being used on a more frequent level the way Hightower was used in early in the 2nd half of the Sugar Bowl (up sometimes in the middle, down at DE at other times). This guy's speed was just IMPRESSIVE. He tracked down Bryce Brown (who runs a legit 4.3) from behind. I like it.

And I'm old school. I really am. What I really liked about the guy is that he was ALL BUSINESS. No chest bumping. No chest thumping. Just make the plays and get back to the huddle or to the sideline. I love it.

Julio didn't have a good all-star game at Orlando either, but then he was hurt. The San Antonio game was the first time Randle had played WR in over a year. I haven't seen Randle play, but I never saw Cadillac Williams play for Attala either. You could tell from the way people talked about him that he was something special, and the same is true of Randle.

Several great points. I don't see how anyone could expect Randle to step into a position he hasn't played in over a year with a team he's never played with, a QB who's never thrown to him and plays he doesn't know and still look like the #1 recruit in the nation. It just doesn't happen.

Terrell Pryor did it last year. Bryce Brown did it Saturday. Maybe it's tougher for Wide Receivers, but if you truly are an elite athlete, you'll shine no matter what. However, everyone has an off day.

And I personally thought Julio Jones was very impressive in the UA All-Star game last year: dragging tacklers just like he did for us this year.

Taking throws from a QB he has never seen before practice that week, who is throwing behind an OL that has never played together before this week, is probably not the best way to shine. Running QBs (like Terrelle Pryor) and RBs can get the ball much easier and do their thing.

All you really need to be looking for in an athlete like this is his obvious athleticism and whether he has the mental makeup. For example, would Julio still be essentially the same player if his high school had run the wishbone and threw it to him 2 times a game, save the fact that he might not be as polished? He would still have the same athleticism and the same competitive nature.

On a similar note, I remember watching Robert Horry play basketball in the high school state tournament and thinking he was terrible. In fact, some of the papers around the state were referring to him as "Robert Keith Horrible." It turned out that he was not surrounded by anyone the other team feared, and someone finally shut him down. It also turns out he was a pretty good basketball player.

:) AJ McCarron was quoted as saying after one of the practices for the Army All-American Game that next year at Alabama he would be rooming with D.J. Fluker and someone he couldn't mention yet.

Obviously, Mr. McCarron knows something we don't know. It would be nice if it were a surprise like Reuben Randle, but more likely it's probably someone like Tana Patrick. Either way, it does go to show you that there are things known behind-the-scenes that simply do not get made publicly available.

Truth be told, with many of recruits left on the board, though not all, the people actually inside the recruiting process itself already know exactly how things will unfold from here. I know some recruits love to play this whole "everybody is still equal" business right up until the very end, but for the most part this late in the game -- after, with most recruits, being recruited by all of these schools for over a year -- it's all over but actually putting the ink down on the paper come

THAT'S JUST GOOD NEWS - LET'S LEAVE IT AT THAT !

Actually I don't see any of these recruits going any where but bama once Coach Saban has a talk with their families and explains the priorities when a player commits to play in Tuscaloosa. They will graduate with more than National championship rings. They will graduate with pride in them selves and a degree that will make them a good living even after the NFL.

I agree with you.
