AJ has just been named the Carl's Jr star of the game. The weather he played in is a lot worse than it looked on TV, it's just plain cold and rainy today.

So he already has his pick of the Carls Jr Girls , his wife made a commercial for CJ and Hardees. What are they going to give him now?

AJ is the first QB we've put into the NFL in a long time who really has the chops.

He can make the reads, he can make the throws, and he isn't intimidated by the big stage. Fun to watch!

He, as a BAMA QB, won an NFL game for the first time since Jeff Rutledge.

That is profound. I was amazed at his performance coming off the bench cold and throwing 2 TD's last week, but the pick six is what the media focused on. He stats were very good under the circumstances, and I had no doubt it would only get better with a week of 1st team reps. I wish they would trade him, he is easily better, at minimum, than a handful of Quarterbacks starting right now.

They won't trade him. Dalton is not a sure thing. If Dalton comes back and lose a playoff game, then his seat is hot for next year. IF Dalton wins superbowl.... Then they may trade him.

This is a golden opportunity for AJ. He's probably not going to supplant Dalton since Dalton is a top 10 QB in the league and that's quite a treasure in today's game. But AJ could be auditioning for a trade to a team in desperate need of a good, young QB. It almost worked for Matt Flynn a few years ago, but Russell Wilson came along.

Very positive and telling quote from a starting offensive lineman. Whitworth. Brody had a golden arm, but he was to was too fragile, I would not not have drafted him if a GM. Have always though AJ would be the guy that would make a career out of it so far. I thought Wilson and GMAC were longshots. AJ is like Rutledge or better.

It was just his energy and passion and accountability in the huddle. Quarterbacks all have different personalities, but he has one of those that's kind of a rally-the-troops personality. 'Just give me a chance, let me make this play' type of guy. He's got that. It's a special thing that not a lot of people have.

JR was a perrenial NFL backup who just had spot play throughout his long career. Not knocking him at all and he was a hero of mine when he played for the Tide.

But AJ will have much better NFL career IMO. I think he showed yesterday that he can start and succeed in this league. He can thank CNS for that slap on the butt a few years ago.

I don't know what "they" are going to give him, but his Mrs. is about to give him something:

Katherine Webb and her husband, football player AJ McCarron, have announced that they are expecting their first child!

And, it's a boy!

I'm thinking the Bengals may play out the AJ QB situation like the Packers did with Farve and Rodgers. I think the Bengals know AJ could be their future but if Dalton keeps performing well they can not trade or replace him anytime soon (unless he continues his winless streak in the play-offs). It will be interesting to see how this situation progresses over the next year or two.

That is just the last guy I thought had it. I always felt AJ could be a solid starter, there are teams where he would be starting now, but I guess being a backup for 4 years and then getting a shot can be good for a career, like Rogers or Steve Young. AJ will be in the league for a long time imo.
