I missed most of the game. How are we only ahead by 4 in the 2nd half?

Bama has a 3 point lead with 4 minutes to play - against Alabama A&M?

is it just me or do our players look like they don't want to be there when they're on the court? like they could care less if they win or lose. just judging by their faces they look real depressed. hopefully it's just because we are playing an "inferior" team, and is something that will change when we play the stronger opponents on our schedule.

I hope you guys keep in mind that I'm not trying to be a butt here, but...

Why are you guys surprised? I don't mean to be Debbie Downer, but it's pretty obvious at this stage that we are a bad basketball team, and we are going to struggle against just about anyone, even the Alabama A&M's of the world.

Tonight was the same ol' story... we couldn't hit the broad side of a barn from the perimeter, and we lost the turnover battle by a fairly big margin. I don't care who you are playing, any time you do that, it's going to be a close game.

An uninspired effort against a truly awful team. We need a lot of improvement before we get into the conference schedule.
One bright spot-Andrew Steele got more minutes tonight and was 3-4 from the field with 1-1 from the 3 point line. He played smart and tough, and he seems to be playing better the more time he gets.

When fans aren't even inspired enough to start a game thread, that's when you know you've got a really, really bad team. Does anyone know the final score? Or does anyone even care?

I reaize we have our struggles, but I didn't expect A&M to take us to the wire. :conf2:

It is embarrassing. Alabama A&M has lost to two NAIA schools including their hometown "rival" (I use that term loosely), Oakwood this year and we only beat them 8 points. When is some type of change going to occur?

Their is no energy or enthusiasm around this program, which is sad considering that it was somewhat difficult to get tickets for numerous SEC home games from 2001-2006. I doubt we have a sell out this year except for Auburn & that will only be to see the trophy presentation.

I was hoping their would be a change in direction but alas it did not occur. THis year has the unfortunate chance of looking like Hobbs' last year. I hope not but it ain't lookin' good so far.

It does to me too. That last game of the regular season at Knoxville looks scary.

Must..... refrain.... from..... breaking..... board..... rules.....

Lol, isn't that the truth?

I think just about every time I go on the basketball board, it's like there are a million things I want to say, but only a couple of things that I can actually say without getting in trouble, lol.

I've lived in Huntsville since 1994 and I didn't know that Oakwood even had a basketball team.

I bet Gottfried will be one of Bama's biggest football fans Saturday - for the distraction of a BCS Championship game.

amen to that.......I have pretty much lived in North Alabama all my life (except for my days at the Capstone) and I had no idea they had a team or a gym!

Oakwood beats A & M......A & M almost beats The University of Alabama! :mad2:

Something is wrong.......bad wrong......

Haha, there are so MANY things we probably all want to say!

This is how I've found myself approaching Alabama Basketball lately. Keep in mind I'm no fairweather fan, I'm usually a diehard when it comes to basketball.

I check the boxscores whenever we play, I cry a little on the inside, and I check the basketball forum about 1 out of every 3 games we play and note the lack of activity.

I guarantee if we were having a football season like we had last year, the basketball mods would be banning people on this board by the hour.

I don't even know if I'm angry about our basketball team anymore, just sad. I mean literally, I feel bad watching this team. If the players look like they don't care out on the court, then how are we supposed to care from our recliners and barstools?

Sadly, it is the truth. I guess that's why there's so little activity of late on this board.
Lance must love not having anything to do.
