With Southern Miss being the 16 seed, does that make us the highest ranked 2 seed? I am not sure if they do it like that or not but it could mean we were that close to hosting.

#1 seed Vandy awaits if we advance. Ouch.

Pretty favorable draw for the opening regional since we've already beaten Southern Miss in the regular season, but a reward of most likely Vandy in the supers sucks. We should have taken 2 out of 3 from them though earlier in the year, but we gave one of them away...

I'm just glad to see this team making progress under Vaughn...hopefully this season is just the start of a brighter future either way!

DT, while struggles down the stretch and an early exit in the SECT made it unsurprising that we didn't get to host (though I still can't figure how Southern Miss or FSU got a regional and we didn't), are there metrics or rankings that can help me understand why Auburn is the #4 overall seed?

Auburn's RPI, SOS and conference record was better than ours (warrennolen.com). They swept LSU, won their series vs Vanderbilt, won the seriess vs Tennessee and beat us 2 out of 3. With an RPI of 3 and a SOS of 1, making a strong case for Auburn being ranked as the #4 seed

Go to warrennnolen.com and see the metrics for Southern Miss and Florida State. you will notice they had better rankings when it comes to non-conference SOS. Hope this helps.
