I am sure this has been talked about before but I couldn't help but bring it up.

Saturday, my son and I went to our second game of the year. When "Thunderstruck" started and the screen showed Saban leading the team down the tunnel to the field I was pumped to the Nth Degree.

That has got to be one of the best songs to enter to.

Maybe I am alone in my thoughts on the song....but thinking about it now pumps me up.

I've always liked "Amazing Grace" on the bagpipes, especially at a funeral.

What a minute! That was after the game against Georgia this year in Athens.

Someone asked Coach Saban on his radio show what song he'd like if Bama played one as the team came down the tunnel. He said "Nicholas(his son) what's that song I like"? And Nicholas said "Thunderstruck".

I guess someone was listening. I'd love to see a video of this.
That would get me pumped up as well.

I agree .. it was especially fitting when we played Clemson and they played it on TV. Here's a video of the Ole Miss game the audio is a bit bad though. Not my video.

Is this true? Are you saying Coach Saban actually requested Thunderstruck, based on the reason "he likes the song"? Its hard to believe a coach can just get cooler and cooler in the eyes of his fans.

Did anyone see Coach Saban at Wal Mart buying the new ACDC album "Black Ice"?

I bet that does get ya pumped.

Quick pumped up story for me. I went to see Metallica Sat night and right before they came on, I watched the last 3 mins of TT vs UT. Well we all know TT won and right when they scored, the lights went out for Metallica. I went into the show knowing we were about to be #1 in the country. I was so pumped it just made for the best night ever.

Dont want to steal the Thread. Back to Coach Saban requesting ACDC....Heck YA!!!

First of all....Metallica....Yes!

Second, when the song kicks on and you see Saban leading the team down the tunnel it is very "to the point"....he shows very little emotion from what I can tell. It shows me that (something we all knew anyway) that HE leads this team, HE is in charge, and it seems that the team would follow him through a brick wall at that point and that HE is leading the team into battle like a General.
I can almost see him in the locker room before he leads the team out quoting Gladiator....."At my signal...unleash H.E 'double hockey stick'"...Then "Thunderstruck" kicks in.

Chill bumps...........

Also on the "Hey Coach" show early in the season one of the guess journalist asked if he had a theme song what would it be. His reply was Tunderstruck.

Every time I see the entrance video, I wish Tony would do something like...

"Coming to the field.... led by their coach, Nick Saban,... at a combined weight of a couple of tons... hailing from Tuscaloosa, Alabama... ladies and gentlemen... I give you... THE ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE!"

Yeah, I'm a wrestling fan. :)

Thanks so much for posting this but I was not able to get ANY audio. Not sure if it's me or if others are having a hard time hearing it. Would love to see it and hear it though.

Never mind. I got it. Old age!

I love Thunderstruck too, but here's my dream song and visual for the Tide to enter the stadium:

Play AC/DC's early hit Hells Bells - as the song begins, there are loud tolls of a heavy iron bell with pauses in between. Each time the bell tolls, you see a player (like Cody) in the tunnel with dry ice smoke rising up. Just picture every time that loud bell tolls and you see a different mix of players each game: Cody / McClain / Fanney / Big Andre / Caldwell / Julio / JPW / Hightower / Upchurch / Deaderick / Coffee / McCoy / Walker / Rashad / etc. The last shot would always be of Saban. You get the picture. The shots of the players each week could be pre-recorded (easier), or live action. That would make me want to get out on the field and hit somebody.

Might as well bring in the cannons they use in "For those about to ROCK" as well

I posted this last year, why not post it again...my idea for a spine tingling entrance.

Just prior to the team coming through those doors...get the ALA....BAMA cheer going. Like the crowd is beckoning them from the bowels of the stadium. Talk about a total eruption when they run onto the field. I'm giving myself chills thinking about it.

That would be pretty cool.

While it is cool that apparently Saban requested Thunderstruck to be played, it's also worth noting that that song is used quite a bit across the country as well as a couple others that seem to be very popular at college games right now.

Thunderstruck is not unique to Alabama; but playing Thunderstruck, having the #1 team in the country, laying claim to the most national championships, the greatest coach of all time and the greatest coach currently ---- well, that's just totally unique to ALABAMA!! :BigA:

I'm a huge fan of the entrance video. Also, if you have a chance to catch Virginia Tech's entrance to "Enter Sandman", it's pretty intense.RTR

Isn't FOX using it on their NFL broadcasts too? I think it's probably the coolest song ever used to start a game with. It's a shame FOX had to jump on our bandwagon and use it.

The mighty USM Golden Eagles come out to Thunderstruck also. And it's pretty cool. Great song. It & Enter Sandman are the best, imo. Right close with them is "Indestructible" by Disturbed.
