There's an Ohio State fan on TigerDroppings that says he played with DePriest in high school, and that Alabama is waisting a scholarship on him. He continues to go on and on about how DePriest is overrated.
Haha saw that too...

Who to trust... him... or the huge list of great respected coaches that have offered DePriest... lol he also says he's a better RB than LB......................

Poster from the OSU board. Wow.

In my opinion, if he's made the call, then good luck to him. They say timing is everything and unfortuantely for him, he missed out on the Tide's championship rings (frankly speaking, I don't see them getting another ring for some time). I like the Buckeye's chances of getting back to the big dance over the next few years, much better than those of Alabama.

As an OSU fan, I'm just disappointed that we would have lost out on the top linebacker in Ohio for two consecutive years (especially considering the success we've had with placing LB's in the NFL over the years (Spielman, Hawk, Laurinitis, etc ...).

Hahahahahahaha!!!! Has that guy not heard of
1- Derrick Thomas
2- Cornelius Bennett
3-Demeco Ryans
4- Rolando McClain

I'm aware that OSU has put some pretty good linebackers in the league over the past 10-15 years, but Alabama has at the very least ='d that output, I'd say.

Big words for a team that is 0-for-the century against the SEC. Ohio State will be in a battle to win the Big 10. They should worry about that before trying to prop themselves against the defending National Champions.

I saw that one. Nevermind the fact that Alabama's two #1 classes, and 2010 #5 class will begin to make their impact this year and next year. We've yet to even see a fully recruited roster by Coach Saban. Wow. Just wow.

And then the dribble about Ohio State LBs. Yes, Ohio State has a proud history of top LBs, so does Alabama. We have four in the College Football Hall of Fame. And Derrick Thomas, who's in the NFL Hall of Fame, would make five when he finally has his name called.

I especially liked this quote!

Yeah, lets see... that's a real head scratcher...

I just don't get it... besides us having a great coaching staff that he likes and the fact that we just won the national championship and are about to compete for more, why would he want to come here? What does he see in us?

Duh...
Reminds me of Monty Python's Life of Brian.

What have the Romans ever done for us? I mean, besides the aqueducts, sanitation, roads, medicine, education, health, wine, public baths, libraries, law and order, what have the Romans ever done for us?;)

If TD hasn't made a decision yet, I hope he reads the message boards... Just the hint of him committing at Bama, and the OSU fans completely sold him out. We at least wait until the committment is official before we sell-out.

Tomorrow is his bday and he will likely commit to the good guys. Not Saying a Guarantee but his family loves it here and he already does. His entire family is here. Just some encouraging words at 2 am.

I've read that link from TD that Cap was referring to. If you read just page one, it was fairly decent with disappointment but wishing the young man well. By page three, it had turned into anything from a cruxifiction to back room southern politics. If they do that off a rumor, can't imagine what a commit would do!!

Airborne (or anyone else in the know) - if TD does indeed commit, where do you think that leaves us with J. Vaughters? I'm guessing we're looking at both of them for the same MLB position. And Bama and OSU are currently in his top five, if I remember correctly.

I saw that as well. What is so stupid about it is the accusations came from someone talking about his whole family going to Tuscaloosa with him this week for camp. The OSU fans took it as the whole family was moving to Tuscaloosa.

I don't believe it's a given that we're recruiting them for the same position but at the same time if we do indeed get DePriest it's highly doubtful that it will help us in getting Vaughters. You can only take so many "big fish" before the other "big fish" start to look elsewhere. JMHO.

Yep - you're right, of course. I know DePriest is rated higher, and of course I hope we get him, but Vaughters would be a big catch, too, IMO. If we can get either one, I'm happy. If we could get both, I'd be absolutely ecstatic!!

I understand from reading various online content that DePriest left Ttown recently.
Does anybody "in the know" have any information on how the trip went?
Sounds like everything i've seen (albeit very little since I don't subscribe to premium content) he loves it down here!!
Does his family?

Thanks guys and Roll Tide!!!

I really do not think we in the running for J Vaughters. Everything seems to point to Stanford with OSU right behind. If he stays in the south I would bet he stays instate.

Now I am hearing that T Steward is considering us and is suppose to be visiting soon. With T DePreist I would be happy with either Steward, Vaughters, or C Grant to add with, and I still think we have a shot at Wilder.

Per BOL, He had had excellent visit and time. Trey does not do interviews and a while back he decided to let his coach do them. Not sure when committment time will be for Trey. His coach is coy so I don't read anything into it. It will be us or Ohio St. But he did say Coach Saban was very positive in his recruiting approach and that was refreshing.
