Game Thread: **Alabama LSU Postgame Thread **

Back and calmer now, bama won the game on the line of scrimmage, especially in the second half. They didn't make many mistakes, and capitalized when we did, that's how you win close games . Kudo's to Bama.

TideHSV, with all due respect, Bama got the close calls tonight. doesn't take away from the win, Don't know if we score on the int. but we should have got the chance.

As HSV has already said about a million times. Your boy Peterson could be called for interference on every friggin' play. The "tangled feet" was no accident. The kid looked down right before it happened and it was obvious what he did. He got burned and intentionally "unintenionally" got his feet tangled with JJ.

The non calls that that LSU wasn't called for helped them just as much as the called penalties against them that helped Bama. I'd loved to play this game on a neutral site so there isn't always a built in excuse.

Good to see people are still fired up about the officiating. I think it's a good thing. I'd like to see refs be held accountable for their performance like professionals in any other occupation. I was happy when Slive suspended the crew earlier in the season. It was the first time the SEC had ever made such a bold move.

NFL officiating is far superior to college. The NFL also pays their officials extremely well. The SEC is rakes in more football money than any other conference. I'd like to see the officials in our league compensated more than the refs in the other conferences. This would draw the best officials from around the country. Furthermore, have their compensation tied directly to the calls they missed. Calls go under review every week, so it seems like that would be easy.

On a side note, I much prefer the college replay system to the NFL's.

Oh good lord! The NBC affiliate here in HSV just showed a shot on the LSU TD pass from behind the LSU QB. The LSU center grabs Cody by both shoulders and attempts a takedown. It doesn't succeed, but it keeps TC out of their backfield...

I knew LSU fans would be whining about the officials.
For the record I thought it was an interception by Peterson as well but I strongly doubt it would have changed the outcome of the game. The way their offense was going it would have taken them another week to score on our defense. LSU just got physically whipped, that's the simple truth of the matter.

I don't agree at all with that view. I'll have more to say after I see the replay. The one I just saw gave LSU a TD pass on a blatant hold that should have been called. I don't think think the refs beat you. I think a stronger, better conditioned team beat you...

I agree. I don't think anybody denies that the SEC officiating is horrible. But for ANY TIGER fan to sit here and say that it "cost them the game" and in the same breath say that it didn't cost Georgia the game when the AJ Green penalty was called needs some help. LSU63 is not saying that but I'm saying it in general as I have watched LSU fans defend the AJ Green call as it "didn't cost Georgia the game". I think in the fourth quarter LSU simply wore down.

Let's use some of that money for the best refs in the nation and not the cr@p we seen every week this year. My $30, 000 is on the way.

Like I said, I'm not saying we score, just that we should have been given the opurtunity. As for the first 50 minutes, we're both being homers, because I don't see how you can complain about any calls, considering the huge ones that went your way.

Big thing is that Bama was physical, and in the fourth quarter, we were without our QB, RB, and a couple of DL's. A slug out football game, and tonight, Bama was the harder puncher. Again, Bama played a great game.

Care to list those "huge" ones?
I've said already the Peterson play/incomplete pass could have been called either way and I'd have been fine with it. But I saw nothing on the replay that proved indisputable evidence, as in enough to overrule, but I do understand LSU fans will have a problem coming to grips with that.
Overall I thought it was a tough physical game by both sides.
Jefferson played well for you guys. Best of luck to LSU the rest of the way.

I never said it cost us the game. Matter of fact I said this:Big thing is that Bama was physical, and in the fourth quarter, we were without our QB, RB, and a couple of DL's. A slug out football game, and tonight, Bama was the harder puncher. Again, Bama played a great game.

The thing is, plenty of bama fans said that it did cost Ga. the game.

Let me clarify, then. I don't think that Bama was the clear beneficiary of the balance of the calls, by any means. I'm not getting into the details, but I have several blown calls in mind. However, I understand the emotion...

And you've got every LSU fan RIGHT THIS SECOND save yourself saying that the non interception call cost them the game. So my point is if we're going to sit here and say that the refs "gave bama a win" then there's no doubt in my mind they gave LSU the win against Georgia.

So somebody needs to make up their minds.

One last thought on the game: how bad was LSU game management in the second half? They basically wasted their timeouts.

I was going to come on here and say great game to LSU, it was by far the best game of the SEC season, and the most fun to attend imo. However, all I can find is a bunch of crying lsu fans. Please, spare me. Take it like a man.

And where are you seeing that? I'm the only one here, and I ain't crying, Kemosabe.

This Bama win reminded me of the LSU wins when we had Coach Shula and the one in 2007 (with CNS). We were always in the games and/or winning early, but in the fourth quarter LSU found a way to win with superior talent or execution.

Now, when Bama holds up four fingers at the beginning of the fourth quarter it means something again!!!:BigA:

Look, we see the game through different colored glasses. You see huge calls going Bama's way. I see huge calls - and no calls - keeping LSU in a game in which they were down almost 200 yds, 10 first downs, six minutes in TOP and only gained NINE yards in the fourth quarter. You were in a position to possibly luck out solely because of the officials...

Congratulations, good luck the rest of the way.

And I hope you guys don't complain about the officials ever again

Close my behind, facemask on the last drive too. I better go, I'm sour.

And where are you seeing that? I'm the only one here, and I ain't crying, Kemosabe.

Here you go, Kemosabe.

What's the injun word for friend again? Hey kemosabe, kemosabe! [Thhhhk] Nope, that ain't it... ;)

only looked at 1st 2 pages, btw

I thought so too, it hurt them a bit late in the game. Also the injuries/cramping thing. There for a while, they were dropping like flies it seemed.
By my count they lost Jefferson, Herbert, and Scott to injuries, and had players cramping up a lot, especially Peterson.

They got EIGHT injury time outs. I'm sure that most of them were legit, but it sure did buy them a lot of time when they were obviously gassed...
