TUSCALOOSA, AL - Alabama had five student-athletes selected to the College Sports Communicators' Academic All-District 4 First Team for baseball, the organization announced Tuesday.
The Crimson Tide's five honorees include Ben Hess, Grayson Hitt, Jim Jarvis, Andrew Pinckney and Caden Rose. The group make up a total of 19 baseball players that have earned a combined 24 all-district accolades in Alabama program history. With their selection, UA has had at least one all-district honoree in each of the last four seasons (Owen Diodati, Tommy Seidl and Drew Williamson in 2022; Chase Lee in 2021; and Kolby Robinson in 2020). Prior to Robinson's selection in 2020, Alabama had not had an Academic All-District Team member since 2011.
In all, Alabama has earned 10 Academic All-America honors since 1972, including first-team honorees Dr. Jeff Laubenthal (1993), Lance Cormier (2002) and Emeel Salem (2006, 2007).
The CSC Academic All-America program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined academic and athletic performances. As all-district selections, the five Tide players advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. Academic All-America honorees for a first, second and third team will be announced in June.

- Named to the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll for 2021-22 and is on pace to be tabbed to the SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll in 2023
Academic All-District 4
- Pursuing a degree in consumer sciences with a concentration in consumer affairs
- Holds a 3.62 grade-point average through three years at the Capstone
- Earned a spot on the President's List once and on the Dean's List three times following the Spring 2023 semester
- Selected to the SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll in 2022 and is on pace to earn a spot once again for the Spring '23 list
- Named to the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll for 2020-21
Academic All-District 4
- Earned his undergraduate degree in general business in May of 2023
- Finished with a 3.57 grade-point average through his four years at the Capstone
- Earned a spot on the President's List once and on the Dean's List four times entering the Spring 2023 semester
- Selected to the SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll in 2021 and 2022 and is on pace to earn a spot once again for the Spring '23 list
- Named to the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll for 2019-20
Academic All-District 4
- Earned his undergraduate degree in management information systems (MIS) in May of 2023
- Finished with a 3.52 grade-point average through his four years at the Capstone
- A four-time Dean's List honoree entering the Spring 2023 semester
- Selected to the SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll in 2021 and 2022 and is on pace to earn a spot once again for the Spring '23 list
Academic All-District 4
