The standout senior linebacker is healthy, back down to 230 pounds and set to start at inside linebacker when Alabama plays Florida State on Saturday.
Hamilton is also faster and more explosive than he was before tearing his ACL, according to numbers from Alabama's Catapult system that tracks things such as a player's speed.
"I feel good, better than ever," Hamilton said. "I'm just excited to get back on the field in an actual game. I'm ready to go."
For those who had concerns about SDH.

The progress of sports medicine is amazing but a great deal of this is on work SDH put in this off-season.

If true, this is huge. The guy was turning into a beast before the injury. If he's faster and more explosive now, WATCH OUT!!!! I'm excited to see the disruption he will bring on the field.
That exactly what I was thinking. He was becoming Bama's best all around LB. They always talked about his football smarts and I'm sure he's even smarter at this stage. This will allow Evans to roam and that spells disaster for all Bama's opponents.

I love watching these kids go from being wet behind the ears to be a sure enough stud. When he stepped into to the Ohio State game for Ragland and was blocked on the long run by Elliott as a freshman to last year being one of the best we had. Now this year he is an even bigger part of our defense from a leadership standpoint. These are great stories to read. If some of the players will just hang in there and try not to get frustrated and leave, good things will happen.

It almost always take 2 years to fully recover from an ACL tear. IIRC he tore his ACL in the SECCG roughly 9 months ago. I remember the 1st year after Hightower tore up his knee he was not the same player despite the preseason talk. Again, hope I'm wrong and he is in fact back and better than ever. We need him at full strength..

Well said. It requires patience and discipline that a lot of people do not have. It is great to see the guys who persevere get rewarded, so I hope he has a great year and gets drafted and makes some big bucks.

I thought the same thing. I've never had the injury, but several on the board who have say it's as much mental as it is physical. It just takes time to trust the joint again.

In Hightower's case, I do remember that his conditioning suffered during his rehab, and he put on some bad weight. That doesn't appear to have been the case with Hamilton, so maybe he can be the exception that proves the rule. I sure hope so.
