Little bit of trivia here....Alot of folks dont realize dat Derrick Thomas went to South Miami high school. He also WAS NOT the most heavily recruited player in Dade county, his entire team or even on defense. He WAS not even the most recruited linebacker on his team. Anyone want to take a stab at it??? Hint: The most recruited linebaker on the time was the ONLY All American on the team.

And the TIDE has signed roughly 75 recruits from Florida since 1985.
FSU's Keith Carter, he was a Parade AA and a USA-Today AA and a teammate of All Area LB Derrick Thomas.

It has been reported per ESPN that Demar Dorsey (FL top ranked saftey) will not sign with them. I never saw the reason why though. Texas might have enough left on their board to over take them but only if they seal the deal with Jeffcoat and Hicks. I don't know that we have enough spots left to over take any higher than 3rd. However, we need to remember this was a class to fill holes which hurt in the rankings, but it will pay dividens on the field and thats what matters. RTR

It’s one week before signing day, and the final push begins in the cutthroat world of college football recruiting.

If the current lists of commitments stick to their word, Alabama is primed to ink another top five class when paperwork is signed Feb. 3.

Rivals.com and ESPN’s Scouts Inc., ranks the Crimson Tide’s 2010 haul third nationally while Scout.com has the class fourth as of Saturday afternoon. Florida is the consensus No. 1, followed by Texas. Auburn is in the top five of all three as well by landing at No. 5 in two and No. 4 according to Rivals.

Finebaum: Urban Meyer should win the Waffle House's Man of the Year award | Sports from the Press-Register - al.com
A week from now, most of the Internet sites will declare the University of Florida as national champs in recruiting. It's a small consolation since the Gators, everybody's pick to win a second straight BCS title back in August, were rolled in Atlanta by Alabama, shattering their hopes and dreams.

Don't be surprised if Waffle House also has a big announcement: That Urban Meyer will receive the chain's "Man of the Year Award" for the person who did the most waffling in the past 12 months.

Just in time to put a spin on his epic recruiting class, Meyer nonchalantly announced Saturday night at halftime of a meaningless basketball game that he was returning to coach spring practice. In his first public comments since the Sugar Bowl, Meyer said he's gained 20 pounds and is feeling better.

I saw on another board where Florida supposedly pulled his offer because Dorsey was still planning on visiting FSU and USC. I don't know if that is true or not, so take it for what it's worth.

All I can say is Floridas class is just unbelievable. I don't feel as though our BCS Champ. helped in the least. Here is hoping that it pays the following year as so many have predicted.

I think FSU's class has some freaks and diamonds in the ruff as well. (I feel LJ is overrated (hate his mouth) as any kid can be, but as long as he continues on his current path he will be a casualty of the judicial system soon enough). I would put them ahead of the Barn currently. PSU definitly got the nastiest LB IMHO.

Luc (FSU), however has the potential to be one of the best in the modern era physically. Just hope he has the mentality to match the athleticism. Will be fun to watch "Fishaah" and company start giving UF fits again.

Wow, Texas received commitments from two 5-stars today, DE Jackson Jeffcoat and LB Jordan Hicks which gives them a total of 24 commits. Now that UF has lost S Demar Dorsey from their commits, Texas is nipping at Florida's heals for the number one spot.

It's a horse race. Florida is on the rail in the lead, and down the stretch they come...

Rivals.com Football Recruiting - Team rankings will shift before Signing Day
1. Florida
2. Texas
3. Alabama
The Tide has been fighting like crazy to keep Keenan Allen in this class. Clemson and Cal haven't made it easy on Alabama, and losing a five-star piece of the puzzle could push the Tide behind Auburn - and maybe Oklahoma. Still, this 'Bama class is full of playmakers on both sides of the ball. The defensive back class is far and away the best in the SEC, with or without Allen. Help was added on the defensive line and more offensive firepower is on the way. The Tide have made a late run at Shon Coleman, and Arie Kouandjio looks to be an Alabama lean. Both could help cement the Tide's spot at No. 3.

I am an FSU grad n have attended alot of games durin college days. I bleed crimson out one arm n garnet out the other n can say dat w/o any thoughts of ridin the fence. And I pulled for the tide when they played FSU a couple yrs ago.
