The Tide and Tigers will square off today in Hoover to determine which team makes the SEC Tournament Championship Game. Alabama has to beat LSU twice today in order to advance, while LSU just needs one win over Alabama.

On the mound today will be Miers Quigley, if healthy, but if he is still not healthy we will go with Robert Phares. I'm not sure who LSU will send to the mound in game one, but I'm sure one of our LSU friends can fill us in on it.

On the other side of the bracket, we have Ole Miss v. Vandy. The Rebs haven't lost yet, and Vandy needs to beat them twice, but the Commodores are killing Johnny Reb early in game one. Vandy leads 7-2 right now, and they still look like they will score more in the top of the third. Through two and one-third innings, every Vandy player has reached base. Vandy will have to beat them twice, though.

From what I'm reading, it appears that LSU will counter with junior right-hander Jordan Brown (3-0, 5.04 ERA, 55.1 IP, 48 K's, 71 hits/26 BB given up, .313 opponent BA). Brown has been a guy that's been very good when he's on, but won't get out of the 2nd or 3rd inning if he's not. The LSU bats have saved him from having a couple of loses on the year.

If Bama & Vandy win the first two games today, then plan on staying up late tonight... the current Vandy/Ole Miss game is already closing in on two hours long and it's only in the 5th inning.
