Alonzo Lawrence got on the Cellular South Game Day program last summer which helps all Mississippi student athletes from grades 7 - 12 understand what they need to qualify and how to prepare for the ACT test. Now from all reports on Alonzo's latest ACT score instead of him likely heading to JUCO he will most likely be qualified to enter Alabama this summer.

New hope for Mississippi student/athletes

Last year's graduating class in Mississippi had the lowest percentage of admissible students for all colleges and universities throughout the country. Help is on the way however as Cellular South has sponsored a new program for the student/athletes in the Magnolia state from grades 9-12.

What is the name of the new program?

"The program is called Cellular South Game Plan," added Coach David Saunders, who acts as the cordinator for Cellular South Game Plan's Elite program, which he oversees the Top 30 prospects in Mississippi while the program in itself is designed to help all 90,000 student athletes.

Wow, that is simply huge.

I said that when he committed to us that if he qualified, he would start from day one, and I'm not going to retract that now. This kid may be the best one we signed last year, including Julio and others.

Hi is indeed incredible. Watched him for four years.
I've stated that he is the best H.S. cornerback in America, and I also think he is the best wide receiver we signed.
This kid is just a cut above.
He's also an incredible point guard in Basketball. Maybe he could could helpus there as well..ha.

Nah, Mike is a special kinda crazy. Tyson is like Ron Artest on speed and steroids. You can tell this is a nice guy. It'll take more than looks to duplicate another fool like Mike lol

:smile:... Ya know as much as i hate this question... I'm bored. So here goes, who does he remind you of the most out of highschool surf?

Well I haven't really seen a whole lot of Lawrence other than the Alabama/Mississippi Allstar game and highlight videos. In the allstar game he had an MVP performance and pretty much kept Julio Jones completely in check. I know that he is an incredibly fast, strong, aggressive CB with great hands and instincts. It certainly looks like he may be good enough to start as a freshman at Alabama. I really can't compare him to any of the great Alabama CBs until I see him play in the SEC. Coach Saban made it clear how happy he was to sign Lawrence during his NSD press conference.
