Well, after being banned for life from tidesports.com for pointing out team weaknesses after the Tennessee game (or "being a barners troll" as they put it when they banned me), I somehow managed to get thrown off of another board for the same thing! I mean, maybe I'm crazy, but how in the world does poiting out team weaknesses make someone a "barner troll"? I really thought that tidesports.com was the exception, seeing as how those people are fanatical. But, apparently you can't point out weaknesses on rolltidebama.com either! I got a nasty little e-mail from a crazy moderator on there telling me that my access rights had been permanently revoked for "incessant pot stirring" and "obvious trolling". All because I said if we didn't buckle down on some things, we COULD be looking at another loss to Florida this year. That's it. I just don't think that qualifies as pot stirring or trolling.

It's ashamed to, because I liked rolltidebama.com. They were polite and civil until last Friday after the game. I don't know what to think. I believe I'll just stick with this site. The others are like land mines!

This site has a reputation for the least amount of pot stirring allowed. If you got the boot off those others then I recommend counting to 10, 20, 100, whatever, before each post here :biggrin2:

That's interesting that you got kicked off of rolltidebama.com. I am a member of that site and they are much, much more "liberal" in their tolerance than we are. So for you to have your posting rights removed gets me to questioning not necessarily what you were saying but how you were saying it.

Actually, this forum(Non-Sports) is probably the biggest pot-stirring forum on Tidefans.

Now, the football forum is something different. I'd think pot-stirring on a regular basis might get you in dutch over there.

Both tidesports and rolltidebama have told me that my comments are "thinly veiled insults and predictions of losses". Leading them to believe I am trolling and stirring. Maybe I just come off wrong.

Over on the football forum, there have been several thread entitled "Things we have to fix." Maybe the tone was what they were objecting to.
"GMac hanging onto the ball too long will get Bama killed" versus "For Alabama to have the best chance of being successful, GMac needs to get rid of the ball quicker." (Not saying your posts were along those lines exactly)
Maybe semantics, but this year, apparently, GMac was getting some hateful e-mails/comments and they were not helpful. There is probably extreme sensitivity to what mods see as overly harsh criticism of an Alabama player.

I recall the opening of the 2007 season and when Tiffin was introduced during the pre-game, he actually got booed by the Alabama crowd (probably because of the Arkansas game in 2006). Not exactly the kind of thing that inspires confidence in a player who really needs to have confidence to be successful. I found the booing of an Alabama player classless and very counterproductive. Fortunately, Tiffin was able to shrug it off and has been a very valuable player for the Tide since August 2007.

It's often not the content of what one posts, but the "tone" in which it's posted that will get someone a fast and furious time out from this site.

For example, your current signature is petty and you've started a thread complaining about two other sites that have banned you. You have now drawn attention to yourself, and not in a positive way.

You would've been better off just keeping it to yourself and thinking about what was the common denominator in each of those instances.

Just some friendly advice. And, now, we'll be watching you....

I think I might need to stick to just reading on the forums. That would be better. What's really funny is there are lots and lots of folks who come off as jerks on the web, but in person, they're okay! That might be the category I fall into! I just try not to be one of those "6 foot 5 wrecking machines from the safe confines of my keyboard" types. Those are the worst. Anywho, I think just being a reader might be best for me.
