Posted he was going to do this last night on 4Chan apparently. I've read the posts attributed to him, he makes no note of religion or any other motive in them. Really disgusting is the behavior of many others on 4chan egging him on and offering strategies. Creepy stuff

I think that the worst thing about these situations, which are seemingly more and more common, is the inability to stop it. People are helpless in these situations. It is frustrating. There are no easy answers just empty condolences from politicians and the media. Something needs to be done, but I am not smart enough or naive enough to have an answer.

Interim UCC President Rita Cavin said at a news conference that the school has a no guns on campus policy. CBS News correspondent Ben Tracy reports, however, that in Oregon, students with proper permits are allowed to carry guns on campus.

The 4chan stuff ALONE are enough that someone knew this was going down.....and didn't say a peep.....

More will come out in the coming days/weeks but in most if not all cases there are ALWAYS warning signs that are ignored.

And I will also say it shouldn't be surprising as not much is ever emphasized by our society, media, government, community leaders, etc. about what to look out for and how to report something suspicious.

We know how to identify poisonous snakes.....now how about how to identify poisonous people...you know...the ones who are going to shoot 10 people the next day/week/or coming hours?

Exactly. Not sure how anyone on 4chan would stop him. Even if reported he could just claim he was kidding around and that it's the norm. Not sure what to do about that. I guess we could have some draconian laws, but it seems in some cases it might chill free speech, not that a direct threat is ever a free speech issue but veiled threats depending on the circumstances might be.

Forget the 26-year-old zero who murdered 10 innocents at Umpqua Community College on Thursday morning.

The one to remember is 30-year-old Chris Mintz, the student and Army vet who was shot at least five times while charging straight at the gunman in an effort to save others.

Mintz did so on the sixth birthday of his son, Tyrik.

“It’s my son’s birthday, it’s my son’s birthday,” he was heard saying as he lay wounded.

When word of Mintz’s heroism reached his kin in his native North Carolina, his cousin Derek Bourgeois was hardly surprised.

“It sounds like something he would do,” Bourgeois said.

I agree with you it's the second shooting where Christians have been picked out for shooting this year. It's the tone that's being set that Christians, don't count.

Yeah, when I wrote that last night I had just heard on O'Reily that it was not a gun free zone. This morning on the Morning Joe they said it was gun free. Anyway, whether it was or not probably had little to do with why this nut chose that location. He was a nut and they tend to not make rational decisions or care about their own safety.
