I heard about a month ago that they were both doing pretty well. Anybody have any more recent updates on these two? I haven't heard a peep about them in a while. I'm hoping no news is good news, but I'm getting a bad feeling about their rehab for some reason.....

Dave Rader said last week that Castille is 100% and ready. Last reports posted is the same for Darby, he will be 100% and ready.

thanks for the link... great article.

something inside me broke at the same time Tim took that cheap shot to the knee. i knew the season was pretty much washed at that point. like the coach said, he was the one "filling all the leaks" on offense. we really need him in '05. Godspeed his recovery.

i'm honestly not picking a fight here, and i must admit that i was less than completely lucid during the game, but was it really a "cheap shot" against castille? as i remember, it was a frontal open-field tackle made by chopping the running back's legs from underneath him. i know the defender made contact with the knee, but isn't it possible (even likely) that with the speed of the play that the defender simply came too high when in fact he was trying to slice castille's feet?

as much as i hate ut fans, coaches, and their administration, i tend to give the benefit of the doubt to the kids on the field.

again, i'm not trying to start anything, but am i wrong about this?

I agree with you frat ... i don't think that it was a cheap shot either. It was horrible to watch, but not necessarily cheap. Defensive backs cannot bring fullbacks down by tacking them up high. It has become the norm for DB's to go low on fullbacks, due to the shear size difference.

Now, the UT defender may have led with the helmet, but I don't think that there was any intent to injure. I think that he was just trying to make a stop on a player that was physically bigger than him.

I heard Jeremiah and Andrew Zow on the radio this morning - they are having a football camp in North Jeff Co on July 18 - Tim will be there helping to coach the kids so, sounds like he is doing well.

i read an article over the weekend where Castille said if the season started today, he would not be able to play. Personally, I would prefer that he redshirt and get 100% healthy.

I don't want...

him to play unless he's ready, but, depending on who qualifies, we may need him more this coming season than the next...

if TC can't go, then it will likely necessitate a move to FB from Huber, Sharrief, or Coffee- as a true freshman and not after a RS year. I'd rather us make that decision with all the ducks on the pond.

This was the issue. The UT defender led with his helmet which is spearing, which is against the rules. There should have been a flag.

It was the same thing with Hudson's injury.

Not saying either was a case of the defender purposely trying to injure either Castille or Hudson, but there should have been a flag on both plays. At least, if the officials are going to enforce the rule book.

Spearing is a cheap shot regardless of "intent to injure". What the he!! ever happened to defenders getting their cajones up and planting their helmets in a guys chest, wrapping their arms around him and pulling him to the ground. It used to be called "tackling".

arm tackling? what is that? for the past 20 years all i see are guys trying to hit the other guy hard enough to knock him down. asking a player to wrap tackle someone is like asking a modern basketball player to shoot a bank shot. i guess young players figure there's a better chance at making the highlight reel if they splatter someone with a killer hit than if they make an old school arm tackle. unfortunately, there's a much better chance of bringing a guy down with a tackle than there is in hitting him hard.

Back to the topic...

One of the coaches said recently of both KD and TC that there would be no telling what their true state of health would be until they can actually scrimmage. Some exercises are still painful for KD...
