Ever since December 5...

I get up one day and I feel like there's no possible way we can lose the game. Not cocky, just confident. Solid. Belief in the team and all that.

Then the next day I get up and have a touch of anxiety, thinking that maybe we left it all on the field against Florida.

The next day I get up and think, "This might well be the greatest championship game of all-time."

Then I do a little looking and know that Texas is not unbeaten by accident or fluke. What if we already played our best game but they didn't?

Then I have the Utah nightmare for which I have been diagnosed suffering from chronic PTSD. Shrink tells me that a win over Texas will forever remove it, so I pray for a win mostly for my health.

The next day I wake up and I'm back to confident but not as much so as before. Then I watch some clips of our games and theirs and figure that we are clearly the better team, so we will win.

And then I remember that the 'better team' does not always win the game. I'm confident but by no means cocky. I don't have flashbacks of the 1993 Sugar Bowl dancing in my head (nor do I hate Texas with the same vicious fervor I hated Miami that night).

I then get a little snippy because there's SEC fans openly rooting against us, something that doesn't usually happen in our conference.

Then I get confident again, figuring we are a good team and should win. My goodness, we have the Heisman Trophy winner.

Then I think about other Heisman winners like Torretta, Crouch, Weinke, and Bradford. Then I play the Julio down the sidelines TD play from LSU and feel better.

And then the next day starts, hee hee.

Anybody else having this kind of thing?

I'll have my 'game feeling' about Tuesday before the Thursday game.

This year my feeling has not been wrong even once. It fluttered a bit before Ole Miss and Tennessee, which may explain the closeness of the latter one. I never once doubted we'd beat Auburn.

But it's too soon to tell this year.

I'm not positive, but I am fairly certain, they make pills to control those types of roller coaster feelings. :D

I have some of those, but they don't help at all when it comes to Bama games. Not sure why. I generally go with whatever liquor we have on hand that day. Doesn't make things easier, either, but I don't notice as much.

I saw three guys in Wal-Mart wearing Auburn t-shirts buying Texas hats last week. I just smiled, shook my head, and gave them the same look I give my 4 year old when he does something dumb. I think they understood.

I was in the Fairhope WalMart a few days before Christmas...they had Longhorn watches on display. I was laughing when I asked the clerk if they were actually selling! She seemed a bit unnerved and said it must've been a mistake and had nothing to do with the game.

Normally, I'm not one to point and laugh.

I'm confident that we will perform well against the Longhorns and probably win :)

Back to the original post... Yes, I think we all have mixed emotions about what will actually happen. A pick 6 changes everything. I think we all think (that make sense?) that we're the better team. In my dreams we blow them out but it probably won't happen... I'm happy w/ a victory... or I will cry silently when no one is looking.
