Question: Anybody notice AJ getting hit in mouth by a thrown object in 4th Qtr. on the sideline

I wonder was it one of our own playing with him or did it come from the stands? It was at the 9:07 mark with time out. Just before the kick off after our last touchdown.:BigA::conf3::BigA:

I saw it. Looked like something hit him in the eye, but the camera cut away just after it hit him. I would hate to have seen a piece of ice or gum, or whatever, actually do some damage to his eye. Hopefully, that didn't come from one of his teammates. But you know, boys will be boys.

A piece of ice or what ever debris thrown from the stands not only can hurt,
but it can be a distraction.

My vote would be to keep our helmets on for every away game.

I've been to games and been hit with debris while setting in the stands. Needed a helmet.
I've seen drunks throw bottles, and waded up cups of ice on a number of occasions.

In 1964, Alabama coach Bear Bryant walked onto Georgia Tech's Grant Field wearing a football helmet to protect himself from objects hurled from the stands

We were thisclose to being hit by a full cup of ice and something else poured from the upper deck on the way out. Stay classy, Vols.

It was Phillip Fulmer who accidentally hit AJ. He was trying to get donut glaze off his hands and unfortunately the glaze projectile nailed AJ right in the face. According to a reputable Vol, "this happens more than you might expect."
