Anyone ever order eyeglasses online?

  • Hi Guest, we are working on updating the site servers and software. We're also 'forcing' everyone to read and agree to our site privacy policy and terms of service. There are no significant changes to either of these but the terms page does clarify a few things that are mostly in the legalese. You can just click the checkbox for both and continue using the site as usual! We'll update you more on the site upgrades VERY soon! THANK YOU AS ALWAYS for supporting the site and being an active participant!

I am in need of a new pair of glasses. I haven't had a new pair in probably 8-10 years due to the fact I wear contacts most of the time. My prescription has changed over the years so I am needing to upgrade. I don't want to spend the hundreds of dollars at an optical store so I have found a few places online I am thinking about ordering from. The only thing that worries me is not being able to try them on beforehand even though a couple of companies will let you do a home try-on period.

Has anyone bought glasses online? Which company did you use, and did you like them?

i've bought from these guys http://www.39dollarglasses.com/

you can actually print them out and try them on for looks.

Bought two pairs, love the prescription sunglasses and am meh on the glasses I ordered

if you go this route search online for coupons, I save $15 per pair so $24 each, cheap

just make sure when you get your new prescription you get your Pupillary distance, eye docs don't want to give it up but you'll need it to order

Thank you!

My prescription didn't have the PD on it, and I didn't know I had to have it before I started researching. I called my eye doctor, and since I haven't ordered glasses through them, they will have to measure me. I guess I could call the place where I got my last glasses, but I don't know if my PD would be the same.

Mine will cost a little more because my vision is so bad that I have to get the lenses that are thinner. The high index lenses I think is what they are called.
