My parents are from Glencoe and every time we go to Gadsden to visit my grandparents and parents, we go to Pruitts. Pruitts sucks to be quite frank. I hate that place.

Give me some Fat Boys BBQ on the quad during game day any day.
Ditto on Pruitts. I went in there for lunch one day and could not even get some good, decent vegetables. The server told me I would have to come back at 5pm to get that. Also, don't waste your time going to Dad's BBQ if you're in the area. They use that cheap, store-bought Cattlemen's brand of BBQ sauce...I could not believe it.

I hooked up with a girl from Hokes Bluff in my late teens while visiting my grandparents...she was looking for an Mrs and a little 7-8 lb package as well. I declined both offers...as far as I know anyway. ;)

I lived in East Gadsden as a kid. Wasn't pretty then and definitely worse now. Deliveryman seems right on to me regarding the whole area. I still have a good bit of family in the area and still love the Lookout Mountain area. Attalla is looked down on by some, but there is some pretty real estate in that area sometimes, as well as in Mountainboro, Duck Springs, and the Sand Mountain area. Glencoe is worth checking out, just for God's sake don't speed through town. There are places with reasonable and/or beautiful real estate--just get out of city limits.

Man, I had forgotten about Penny Profit. Used to be a great place.

Good luck, Ping.
