Are you guys rooting for or against Tebow?

From my perspective, (and I think I would say this if he had been a barner, orange puke or a who :conf2:) he is a first class individual in life, and ultimately, that's what counts. The media hype was overboard and may have contributed to some of his on-field behavior (or may not have), which I disagree with (it's just me and the way I think people should act on or off the field); but off the field, I don't see how anyone could not think he is a top-shelf human being. He has just done too much to prove otherwise, and I have yet to read or hear mentioned anything negative about his behavior away from the game.
Besides, he's from the South, and all else being neutral, I have to pull for him.

Definitely for Tebow. There are not many young men that come along like him. He represents class, honesty, faith, clean competitive spirit, compasion, and goodwill to others. He's the kind of role model that most people and loving parents admire. I cannot understand how anyone could not pull for him. Those that don't must be the same people who can't stand to see another SEC team win the national championship. :BigA:

I am neither for nor against him. I wouldn't pass on drafting him if I were an NFL owner, though.

I see no reason why people would dislike him now. He's not in competition with us and he really is as quality of a person as you can get for his age.

Tebow's character and spirit will make him successful in whatever vocation he pursues. He is a fine young man and will be a great asset to any team he joins, NFL or other.

By presenting him in a manner that alienated him from those who do not know him, the media has not been helpful. I am for him, and if given the opportunity to have him on my team in any capacity, I would want him.

I always wanted to beat him, and I'm glad we don't have to face him anymore.

I'm also in the neutral category. I don't pull for him or against. As many have said here, he's a fine individual with a fine moral character. I applaud him for standing up what he knows is right. I think someday he will find his ultimate calling in life and guide others along the right path.
I wish him well. This world could certainly use a lot more like him. :) Lord knows we already have more than we need on the other side. :frown:

I don't go gaga over the NFL so it doesn't matter much to me. But I would like to see him succeed, just like Peyton's success doesn't bother me one bit. I actually like Tebow better than Peyton while at their respective schools.

Personally, having UF in-laws. I am rooting against anyone presently or formerly dressed in Gator colors. I hope to see him make in to the NFL as a QB. And he plays the Ravens and Ray Lewis lights him up.

Sorry, just my personal feelings on the subject. I'm sure I am in the minority. Sick of the Tebow love fest. Started in 2005 with his supposed rectuiment between Bama and UF. We've listened to the media drool over him for long enough. Time for that band wagon to derail. I have no idea what the media will talk about next year. Who will be their new "Superman" or "Greatest Player Ever"?

Of course if he isnt successful he will go back to the mission work and the media will praise him for giving up a pro career to work with less privileged.

I really don't care since I'm not much of an NFL fan anyway. History isnt always kind to "great" college players. They often dont translate to the pros very well.

I definitely got tired of the lovefest but would like to see him do well. Have to say he is a lot of what I would want my sons to be like if they became successful athletes. He has always remained classy (see SECCG post game comments about Bama) and I think more athletes of his character in the professional ranks would be a great thing.

We've often speculated what bama might have been like with Tebow, but I tend to think Tebow would not have been as successful at Bama due to offensive styles.

I hope he makes it. As a TE or undersized FB. ;) I hope any young man achieves his goal. Hearing his name in a realistic light this week has eased some of the disdain I have had for him throughout his college career (all white picket fences).

Good luck to him.

I hope he succeeds and I don't understand why everyone is blasting CUM. Tebow could have selected to go to just about any school he wanted to that ran a pro-style offense if his ultimate goal was to play QB in the NFL. I feel that is one reason he actually considered going to AL. He made his choice. It's Meyer's job to win at Florida on Sat. not Sunday. Now I can see why people would be disgusted with him if he promised TT he would be using those skill sets in the games to get better prepared for the NFL, but he may not have. For all I know CUM said you can work on drop backs in practice and that's it. One thing I do know is that TT needs a lot of work still to play QB in the NFL, and whoever CUM brought in to work w/ him needs to be fired because I have seen no change in his mechanics in 4 years.

With so many players in the NFL with the "me" attitude, I hope he succeeds. I would love him to do well, stay true to his character, and bring some much needed class to the NFL.

I am rooting for him right now, but let me explain.

Unless he makes an NFL team and makes some contribution, my vision of a Tim Tebow death spiral can never come true. After the 2008 SECCG, I began having a very rewarding fantasy about a Tebow fall from grace that involved a sordid series of news stories that revealed that everyone's hero was just a big fake all along. I am seeing headlines that involve hotel rooms, hookers, and possibly drugs or a nasty gambling habit. There are multiple possibilities.

To consummate that fantasy, I need some NFL team to take a flyer on Tebow and take him to the top of the mountain...just so that he has farther to fall. So, yes, I am rooting for him.

Definitely pulling for Tebow to do well, and I hope with the right coaching he can succeed as a QB in the NFL.

I am certainly in the minority here, but I have always enjoyed watching him play, and have always pulled for him to do well - except when he plays us of course.

I agree that the media attention was way over the top, but for some reason, I was able to block it out and just enjoy his competitive spirit and good play on the field.
