Great article; it really adds a new perspective to last season for those of us who didn't follow The Tide through the entire first decade of the 21st century.
Also, to save space, I moved the whole season to DVD. :cool2:

While we go forward to make new memories and new recordings, no reason for any of us to forget the 2009 season. I'll never delete it that's for sure! That's what external drives are for!

Great read as ususal, Jess. It was a long, arduous, and humbling trip from 1997 to 2009, but the payoff was BIG. NC season or not I am looking forward to 2010.

I'm with Bleeder on this one. I will hold onto the SEC and National Champ game vids from now on. The pics of Tebow and Meyer will be with me a lifetime.

Ironically, I feel about the way I did at the beginning of last season - hopeful... Assured is a feeling that I dont want to go back to because I wandered in the desert with the team the last 15 years feeling that way.

Well done Jess. I tried to post something similar last week, but it was not nearly so eloquent. I doubt that the Tide will win it all again this year. There are just too many bumps in the road for it to be likely - bad calls, a few blown plays, a missed FG and you are finished. But I really believe that the program is in great hands now. And the team is now in a position to make its own luck. There will be successes in the future and they will be the rule, not flukes.

I've been walking around punch drunk since the Clemson game in 2008. I think the farther we get from 2009 (whenever football sobriety returns, which I hope is many years and a 12 step program into the future), the more we will realize how close that season sits to the top of the all-time history of college football. What we did and who we did it to will not soon be forgotten.

I went through the DVR purge back around March. I had been in a position where I just couldn't give up 2008 games, much less 2009. I have externally archived or erased everything except for 2 games: The 2008 SECCG (the agony of defeat) and the 2009 SECCG (the thrill of victory!) The weight of those games compliment one another perfectly - you can't think of one without the other.

Bring on another year!

Don't delete it. I have the UA, UF and Nat Championship on the one downstairs and the Nat Championship on the one upstairs. I never get tired of looking at them. I also have the UF game when Prothro got hurt still on the one upstairs.... I don't use that recorder too often.
